Seongsan Ilchulbong - 성산일출봉 (Seongsan Ilchulbong)
Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone, a prominent Jeju landmark, was formed approximately 5,000 years ago from an underwater volcanic eruption. Famous for its sunrise views, it’s considered one of Jeju Island’s top ten scenic wonders. Besides sunrise viewing, it’s a popular trekking destination. The Seongsan-Ojo Trail connects two villages across the peak, while the Jijil Trail offers a closer look at the UNESCO-designated geopark and Jeju’s local culture. Walking these trails is recommended to fully experience the area; reaching the summit provides views of the vast volcanic crater and the surrounding ocean. To complete your visit, head to Seongsanpo Port to watch the haenyeo (female divers) at work.
Seopjikoji - 섭지코지 (Seopjikoji)
A short drive from Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak leads to Cape Seopjikoji. The name, from the Jeju dialect, means “Cape of Small Land,” due to its unique cliff formation jutting into the ocean. The picturesque blend of hill and ocean attracts tourists year-round. You might even spot Jeju ponies grazing on the grassy fields. Walking northeast along the cliff, you’ll reach Bulgeunoreum Parasitic Cone, offering a stunning view of a white lighthouse against the dark blue sea. Notable attractions at Cape Seopjikoji include the Glasshouse and Yumin Art Gallery, masterpieces by renowned architect Ando Tadao, blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings.
Seongeup Folk Village - 성읍민속마을 (Seongeup Folk Village)
This village, preserving the traditional lifestyle of old Jeju, is designated as an Important Folklore Cultural Heritage. Unlike typical folk villages, it remains inhabited. Residents volunteer as guides, providing visitors with valuable information. The Saw-leaf Zelkova and Japanese hackberry trees in the village center are worth seeing.
Sangumburi Crater - 산굼부리 (Sangumburi Crater)
Sangumburi Crater stands out among Jeju’s 360+ parasitic cones as it wasn’t formed by stacked eruption materials. Instead, it’s a maar-type cone with a crater formed by ejected materials. The inner area spans 300,000㎡, with a bottom circumference of 756m and an exterior circumference of 2,070m. Nearly vertical, the crater is about 130m tall, slightly larger and deeper than Hallasan Mountain. In autumn, the crater’s ridges turn golden with silvergrass, while cedar dominates the eastern and western slopes, surrounded by Sawtooth oak. Korean Fir forms a forest path, and Eulalia grass covers large patches of the crater.

At an average altitude of 550m, it’s one of Jeju-si’s hidden 31 views. It’s popular among hiking enthusiasts for its untouched natural beauty.
Haenyeo Museum - 해녀박물관

The coast’s mysterious scenery is awe-inspiring. At its foot is a Hamel Monument, established by the Netherlands Embassy and Korean Foundation on April 1, 1980, to strengthen diplomatic ties and honor Hendrick Hamel’s dedication.
O’sulloc Tea Museum - Adjacent to Seogwang tea field in Jeju, Osulloc Tea Museum, opened in 2001 by AMOREPACIFIC, is Korea’s first tea museum. Handam Beach stretches along the coastline from Aewol-ri Village, at Jejudo Island’s northwestern edge, to Gwakji Gwamul Beach. Created in 2001 as part of a coastline improvement plan, it offers diverse ocean enjoyment opportunities. The 1.2km winding trail is paved along the beautiful coastline, close to the ocean. It’s a popular spot for a relaxing walk along the vast blue sea. In July 2009, Jeju-si designated 31 sites representing Jejudo Island, with Handam Beach as one of these hidden views.
Songaksan Mountain - 송악산 (Songaksan Mountain’s peak)
Featuring a cinder cone in the crater’s center and its tuff ring, Songaksan Mountain’s peak, or mouth, is 69m deep and retains its active form. Once known only to archaeologists, it’s now part of a popular tour course with many narrow paths. Songaksan Mountain served as Japan’s forward base during its invasion of China and WWII’s final defense line. Ruins of airfields, hangars, and anti-aircraft artillery are scattered, with 15 coastal trenches below the cliff, some naturally decomposed and hazardous. The cave, built using the shore cliff, and seaside trenches offer excellent ocean views and high preservation value.
Suwolbong Peak - 수월봉 (Suwolbong Geo Trail)
The sunset view at this volcanic cone rivals Sarabong Volcanic Cone’s. From Suwolbong Peak’s observatory, see Chagwido Island, Songaksan Mountain, Dansan Mountain, and Jukdo Island at a glance, and observe Sarabong with binoculars. Suwolbong’s legend, Nokdumul, tells of siblings Nokgo and Suwol’s love for their parents. They sought 100 herbs to cure their mother’s illness but couldn’t find the last herb, Acanthopanax senticosus. Learning it grew on Suwolbong Peak’s cliff, Suwol climbed to harvest it.

Eoseungsaengak Trail - Eoseungsaengak (Eoseungsaeng Volcanic Cone), a Hallasan Mountain parasitic volcano, can be climbed from Hallasan Mountain National Park’s Eorimok District. From Cheonwangsa Temple, take the 1100 Road to Seogwipo. The round trip from Eorimok to Eoseungsaengak Peak takes about an hour. The trail features log stairs and wide wooden boards to prevent summit soil loss. At the trail’s start, a sign reads “Eoseungsaengak Hiking Trail.” The name Eoseungsaeng means “the place where the king’s horse flies,” with an interesting legend. The name ‘Grandma Rock’ has its own legend. The stone pillars, believed to have formed during a volcanic eruption, are sea stacks, with pine trees growing naturally on top, creating a picturesque scene. Depending on the viewing direction, it presents different appearances, showcasing nature’s beauty.
