Zhengzhou - Jinan (L)

Baotu Spring Park - The driver will pick up guests from Zhengzhou city hotel lobbies and transport them to Zhengzhou South Railway Station. Board the morning train to Jinan, which takes approximately 4 hours. Upon arrival, a friendly local tour guide will greet guests and take them directly to Baotu Spring.

Research indicates that Baotu Spring has a history spanning 3,543 years, dating back to the Shang Dynasty (16th – 11th BC). The spring maintains a constant temperature of 18 degrees Celsius (64.4 degrees Fahrenheit) throughout the year. Guests can enjoy a leisurely walk around the park’s pavilions and courtyards while the knowledgeable guide shares fascinating insights into the park’s history.

Furong Ancient Street - Next, visit Furong Ancient Street, where merchants have been trading for over 2,000 years. The street features a diverse array of shops and eateries. Guests can savor a delicious lunch at a nearby restaurant.

Daming Lake - The tour continues to Daming Lake, a large natural lake formed by numerous springs. The lake is encircled by a park that includes historical structures such as pavilions, temples, gardens, and bridges. Daming Lake has been a source of inspiration for poets, painters, calligraphers, and scholars over the centuries. Guests can spend some relaxing time enjoying the tranquil park.

After the tour, guests will be transferred to their hotel in Jinan (self-booked).

Jinan - Qufu - Zhengzhou

Confucius Temple - The tour guide will collect guests from their Jinan hotel lobby for a 40-minute bullet train ride to Qufu.

The first stop is the Temple of Confucius, initially constructed in 478 BC to honor Confucius. The temple has undergone numerous reconstructions over the years, with over 300 buildings erected during the Jin, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. Guests can explore the halls and courtyards with the tour guide, learning about the architectural symbolism, admiring the statue of Confucius, visiting stone tablets, steles, and pavilions, and discovering Confucius’ life and cultural heritage.

Former Residence of Confucius in Qufu - Guests will then walk through a small market to continue exploring the Kong Family Mansion. The descendants of Confucius resided here and were responsible for conducting elaborate religious ceremonies for events such as plantings, harvests, honoring the deceased, and birthdays.

Confucius’ Parents’ Cemetery - After lunch, the tour visits the Confucian Cemetery, which has served as the family burial ground for Confucius and his descendants for over two thousand years. It is the largest, oldest, and best-preserved single-family cemetery in China.

Finally, the tour guide will escort guests to Qufu Railway Station for the train back to Zhengzhou (approximately 3 hours).

Upon arrival, the driver will meet guests at Zhengzhou South Railway Station and transfer them back to their hotel in Zhengzhou City (self-booked).
