Authentic Eats in Shanghai! - Jia Chen our tour guide was awesome! She guided us through the local neighborhood of Shanghai taking us on an experience that was truly authentic. We ate at local hole in the wall shops that served excellent breakfast snacks. These shops have been around for many years serving the local community, a testament to the quality of their food. Each food stand and restaurant we visited had it's own story which Jia Chen told, adding to the charm of each location. She is also very knowledgable about everything Shanghai and gave us a lot of context as to the unique Shanghai culture. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting SH!

Unique & Local Flavors - Our experience was led by Emma and we could not have asked for a better guide for this adventure. She brought us to spots to taste some of the best classic and contemporary breakfast and coffee options Shanghai has to offer. We went to places we never would have known about as first time visitors and I'll definitely be going back to some of them if/when I come back to this city. Our guide was also incredibly helpful even after our tour was over, giving us recommendations for other cafes, restaurants, bars, and attractions to check out during our stay. This was our second ever food tour with lost plate, and would recommend this one especially for people coming to Shanghai!

A great breakfast experience - Everything was great! Our tour guide was Sylvia and she gave us one of the best food tour experiences we had throughout our China trip. We had the opportunity to try some local favourites for food and coffee, some traditional and others contemporary. My favourite was the scallion pancakes but there are flavours for every taste. Thank you 😃

Hidden Breakfast Gems & Great Company in Shanghai! - We had such a great time on the Shanghai Coffee & Breakfast Tour with our family! Our guide, Weijia, was awesome—friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience really fun and relaxed. Even though I lived in Shanghai for two years, we tried breakfast dishes I had never heard of before, which was such a nice surprise. The coffee stops were fantastic too—each one had its own vibe, and the drinks were genuinely delicious. One of the unexpected highlights was meeting other great families on the tour—it made the morning even more enjoyable and social. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Shanghai, or even locals looking to discover a new side of the city!

Early morning breakfast in Jing'an - I've lived in Shanghai for almost 4 years now, and when my father came to visit I wanted to show him an experience outside of what one usually does. While I'm quite familiar with Shanghainese dinner, Shanghainese breakfast is a different matter. I've used Lost Plate for dinner tours in Beijing and Bangkok and really enjoyed them, so it was a no-brainer to try them for a Shanghai breakfast tour. The tour did not disappoint - we tried lots of local breakfast foods from small venues that have been in Shanghai for years. It's always great to support locals, and a walk through the quiet Jing'an streets on a Saturday morning in the sun was a perfect first day in Shanghai for visitors who have never been here before. Definitely recommend trying this out if you live in or visit Shanghai
