• Confucius Temple - The tour guide will meet guests in the lobby of their Qufu hotel at the scheduled time, then proceed directly to the Temple of Confucius. Starting the tour at 7:30 am allows visitors to witness the “Opening Gate Ceremony” at the main entrance.
• Qufu Dacheng Hall - The Temple of Confucius, originally constructed in 478 BC to honor Confucius, has been rebuilt multiple times over the centuries. It has experienced 15 major renovations, 31 significant repairs, and numerous minor modifications. Over 300 structures were built during the Jin, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. The temple follows the design standards of imperial palaces, featuring yellow roof tiles and red-painted walls, surrounded by dark-green pine trees for a striking color contrast.

Guests can explore the halls and courtyards with their tour guide, learning about the architectural symbolism, admiring the statue of Confucius, visiting stone tablets, steles, and pavilions, and discovering Confucius’ life and cultural heritage.

• Former Residence of Confucius in Qufu - This residence housed Confucius’ descendants, who conducted elaborate religious ceremonies for events like plantings, harvests, honoring the deceased, and birthdays. The first mansion was built in 1038 and was originally connected to the temple. The family mansion was occupied by Confucius’ descendants until 1937. Today, it consists of 152 buildings with 480 rooms.
• Kong Forest - Guests can enjoy a delicious Shandong-style lunch at a local restaurant before heading to Confucius Cemetery by car or tuktuk.

The Confucian Cemetery has served as the burial ground for Confucius and his descendants for over two thousand years. It is the largest, oldest, and best-preserved single-family cemetery in China. Known as the Forest of Confucius due to the abundance of trees, over 20,000, it features numerous tombstones, temples, pavilions, and sculptures. Approximately 3,600 tombstones from the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties remain standing in the cemetery.

After the tour concludes, guests can choose to explore the area independently, and the tour guide can assist in finding a taxi to the next destination (at the guest’s own expense).
