A must-see from Johannesburg! - Wow! Just wow! Logistics getting out to Kruger were wonky, but the great customer service efforts made it work for me. Once there, the arrival at the glamping tents and subsequent 4 hrs evening tour were awesome! Dinner afterwards was scrumptious! Next day 9hr day tour (like 350 kilometers!) with breaks for breakfast and lunch, was even more outstanding. The close-ups of all the animals and how many different ones we saw were SO amazing! The mountains! The views! MJ was the day tour guide and he was terrific and SO knowledgeable! I can't say enough great things. In two days you see the min, but wish there was a 3 day option. But two days good, you see the animals you have dreamt of!

This was truly an amazing experience! Unfortunately, we had gone after a lot of rain. So many roads were closed, still a - Our guide was very knowledgeable, and just very kind overall. We slept in the tents and they were extremely accommodating. We were able to see three out of the big five! It truly was an amazing experience and see all of those animals up. Close was just breathtaking. This is an experience. You wouldn’t want to miss.

Big Five at Kruger! - September 26 and 27, 2025: Kruger National Park
After the long drive from Johannesburg, we finally arrived at the Numbi Gate entrance to Pretoriuskop Camp at Kruger National Park.
After checking in, we were accommodated in “glamping” tents, with cots and mattresses, linen, blankets, etc., and electricity (but no WiFi 😁).
After lunch and a short rest, we were picked up for our Sunset Safari with our guide, Den Nhamuche — an amazing driver and guide with phenomenal eye for animals in the dark, including little chameleons to owls and hyenas. After a five-hour drive around Kruger, we returned to our camp area to the most wonderful dinner with red wine.
We were woken up just around 4:30 am with a gorgeous symphony — the Avian kind — of trills, tweets, whistles, grunts, and other sweet sounds (bummer I didn’t think you record). Our morning guide, Cee-Jay, took us around the park. The guides are in constant communication with each other via two-way radio and WhatsApp for information on the location of animals. The guides drive back and forth, making u-turns and k-turns to try to get to the best spots. After driving around for approximately three hours, we stopped for a 30-min break at Skukuza Camp for breakfast that the safari tour company provided. Then we were off for another three hours around the park. After lunch at a restaurant at Pretoriuskop camp and short break, we were off for another drive through the park for two hours.
We covered significant distances throughout Kruger National Park, which is almost 20,000 square kilometers, straddling two South African provinces, Limpopo and Mpumalanga.
The goal for all safari tourists and for the guides is to make sure we see the "Big Five," i.e., Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino, and Buffalo. Over the two days we did! The persistence of the guides is impressive.
All in all, it was an awesome trip. If you have an opportunity to see Kruger National Park.

Recommended, thanks to the team! - I booked the two day tour, thinking that it would probably be too short, but not having an extra day available to stay longer anyway.
I was afraid to have a rushed experience.
I don't regret at all. I still think that spending at least two or three nights is better, but in two days, I have the feeling to have seen so much. It was absolutely wonderful.
Thanks to the team, and Roy, our guide the second day, who did everything to make us see a large number of animals, including most of the big five.
Recommended.

If I could give it 6 stars I would - The tour was well organized, everything like clockwork. Our guides were friendly and knowledgeable and efficient. Everything was included or thought of, all you need is a change of clothes and a toothbrush. The accommodations were comfortable and very clean, you even have electricity to charge your devices. The food was great and the morning coffee was deeply appreciated. Honestly, a great value for the money. I would 100% recommend to anyone.

Perfect experience - Perfect safari - Our safari with Mbombela Tours was simply outstanding! Even the organization in advance was absolutely smooth – everything worked out perfectly. The journey was straightforward and very convenient, so you could start relaxed from the start.
In the camp we were expecting a super cozy tent, which was not only very clean, but also pleasantly quiet. You could enjoy nature and still feel at home.
The tours offered were a real highlight. The guides were responsible, very competent and responded to all wishes – even making special stops so we could see the animals we wanted. You never felt like a “classic tourist”, but rather a part of a special adventure.
We were also spoiled for food: the food, whether in camp or on the road at the stops, was delicious and varied. It felt exclusive throughout – all at a really fair and outstanding Price quality ratio.
Conclusion: Mbombela Tours offers a safari experience at the highest level. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience in South Africa!

I wish we stayed longer in Kruger! - We loved this well organized tour! If you don't want to think about every detail when on a vacation, then this tour is for you, because they thought of everything! I highly recommend this tour!
Our host Muzi was with us from the shuttle station in Pretoriusskop until he dropped us off at the shuttle the next day. He was kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. We saw lots of animals thanks to him.
Our day guide, Happy, was really awesome! Thanks to his guiding and communicating skills, we saw ALL THE BIG 5!!! It was incredible!
FYI, since I didn't know this, I thought I'd share some info in the review.
1. You are traveling from Johannesburg to Nelspruit via regular shuttle, not a tour bus from the company. Your host (tour guide) will pick you up at the bus station and then it's another hour of driving to the camp site.
2. You are staying in a private tented camp in the Pretoriusskop campground. The tents are actually very nice: tall, with beds, blankets, sheets, and electricity. We felt warm and safe there. There are bathrooms & showers nearby.
3. It gets VERY cold on the sunset drive. Bring jackets and a blanket.
4. There is a restaurant and a convenience store in the camp grounds.
I wish we stayed longer in Kruger!
