Sixteen split-level suites encircle the main lodge, with an outdoor dining boma situated on a central island, accessible via a wooden bridge over the river. Itinerary:

Day 1: Upon arrival at the airport, Bono Tours and Safaris will greet you, or a representative will pick you up from your residence or airport, then proceed to Madikwe River Lodge - Madikwe Game Reserve. The journey to the lodge takes approximately 4 hours. Upon arrival, the Madikwe River Lodge staff will warmly welcome you, assist with check-in, explain lodge operations, and introduce you to your field guide for the duration of your safari. After check-in, you will be escorted to your room to freshen up before departing for the afternoon game drive to experience the BIG FIVE and the wonders of nature that afternoon. Refreshments will be provided during the safari. Return to the lodge in the early evening, where dinner will be served.

Day 2: An early wake-up call will be followed by meeting your guide at reception for tea and coffee before embarking on a morning game drive. Spend the morning observing African wildlife, then return to the lodge for breakfast. The remainder of the day can be spent relaxing by the pool, in your room, or visiting the SPA (at your own expense). Later, depart for the afternoon game drive.

Day 3: An early wake-up call will be followed by meeting your guide at reception for tea and coffee before embarking on a morning game drive. Spend the morning observing African wildlife, then return to the lodge for breakfast. The remainder of the day can be spent relaxing. Later, depart for the afternoon game drive.

Day 4: An early wake-up call will be followed by meeting your guide at reception for tea and coffee before embarking on a morning game drive. Return to the lodge after the morning game drive, enjoy breakfast, and check out. A Bono Tours and Safaris representative will then transport you back to the airport or your residence, leaving you with cherished memories.

Madikwe Game Reserve is located in the North West Province, bordered by Botswana to the north, the Dwarsberg Mountains to the south, and the Marico River to the east. The reserve’s diverse habitats, ranging from acacia savannah to riverine areas, support a unique mix of species, including wild dogs, cheetahs, lions, white and black rhinos, buffalo, and elephants. The birdlife is remarkable, and it is one of the few malaria-free reserves in South Africa. “Operation Phoenix,” initiated in 1993, successfully introduced over 8,000 game animals to the park over six years. In 1996, predators were introduced to Madikwe, starting with cheetahs, wild dogs, and hyenas, followed by lions from Etosha National Park (Namibia) and the nearby Pilanesberg National Park. Additionally, 180 elephants were relocated from the Gonarezhou Game Reserve in Zimbabwe, which had suffered from a severe drought.
