Expect a grand reception at the airport, featuring a presentation of a welcome gift. Our host, along with the assistance team, will help with luggage and ensure a seamless transfer to the hotel, where pre check-in will be completed on your behalf to facilitate a smooth transition from arrival to relaxation.

You will receive an invitation to a welcome dinner from your host, who will make all necessary arrangements to ensure your comfort and accommodate any dietary requirements.

Johannesburg (Jozi) City with Art and Fashion Day

Johannesburg - Today, we will explore the city of gold, delving into its past, present, and future. We will stroll through the Maboneng district to discover art, African modern fashion, and lifestyle. We will engage with local artists and creatives to hear their stories.

After lunch, we will visit Nelson Makamo’s art studios to explore more art, followed by learning a few Amapiano dance moves at Bontle Modiselle’s dance studios.

Dinner will be at a local restaurant renowned for its exceptional African modern cuisine, excellent wine list, and the classic Sophiatown live Jazz band.

Discovering Mankind’s Origin + Soweto

The Cradle of Humankind - We will rise early to catch the sunrise from a hot air balloon over this historic heritage site, offering a breathtaking bird’s-eye view. Upon landing, we will enjoy breakfast before visiting the museum of mankind.

The visit to the Cradle of Humankind is truly transformative. This world heritage site contains evidence of humankind’s existence and physical human ancestry dating back over 2.5 million years. The site spans 47,000 hectares of caves, some over a million years old. A specialized guide will lead us through the museum, sharing in-depth knowledge of this paleoanthropological site and human evolution.

We will then proceed to Soweto, visiting the Nelson Mandela family home where he lived before imprisonment. After lunch, we will visit the Hector Peterson Memorial site, Apartheid Museum, and Constitutional Hill.

Dinner will be at the hotel.

Madikwe Game Reserves (The Hidden Safari Gem)

Madikwe Game Reserve - After breakfast, we will bid farewell to Johannesburg and prepare for our journey to the wild Madikwe. This South African National Park is home to the Big 5, a variety of other wildlife species, birds, and diverse flora and fauna. We will spend the next three nights immersed in the serene, untouched nature.

The drive will take under five hours, including stops, and we will arrive just in time for the first safari. The safari will last a few hours, returning just before dinner.

Day 2 in the Wild

Madikwe Game Reserve - An early morning rise will allow us to experience nature as it awakens. During this morning drive, we will venture into the bush with a guide and tracker to spot animals. We will pause for coffee in the bush, then continue our exploration. Upon returning, we will be greeted with breakfast.

The day offers various activities at the lodge, such as spa treatments, bush walks to track animals on foot, capturing stunning wildlife photographs, relaxing by the pool, or simply unwinding.

After high tea or lunch, the same routine follows with an afternoon drive, culminating in dinner at the lodge.

The Last Day in the Wild

Madikwe Game Reserve - This day includes two safaris to help us complete our wildlife checklist. We will return to the bush to continue our mission, exploring more of nature and African wildlife.

Dinner plans will be arranged by the lodge.

Adventure Continues in Cape Town

Cape Town - Enjoy a leisurely morning before flying out of Madikwe Game Reserves on a shuttle flight to O.R. Tambo International Airport, then transferring to Cape Town International Airport. Your host will be ready to welcome you to Cape Town and transfer you to your hotel.

Dinner will be served at the hotel on your first night.

Robben Island and Table Mountain

Cape Town - After breakfast, we will head to Robben Island, continuing the South African history journey started in Jozi. We will visit Nelson Mandela’s jail cell, where he was held for 27 years before becoming President of South Africa, and learn about the underlying truths of apartheid and its lasting psychological effects.

From Robben Island, we will enjoy the scenery around the V & A Waterfront, filled with excellent restaurants, shops, bars, and activities like helicopter and boat rides.

By now, you will understand that African sunsets are breathtaking. We will catch the sunset from the top of Table Mountain, riding the cable car up and enjoying a snack and drink as the sun sets over the Atlantic Ocean.

Dinner will be at a restaurant of your choice, with transportation provided to and from the city restaurant.

The Tour of the Cape Winelands

Cape Winelands District Municipality - The day begins with breakfast at the hotel, followed by a drive to Franschhoek, then down to Stellenbosch via Paarl and Klapmuts. We will visit five vineyards, each with unique winemaking styles, and taste over 20 different wines. Enjoy food and wine pairings for both lunch and dinner.

South Africa is recognized as one of the world’s top wine producers, making this a must-see part of any visit to the country.

Cape Town City and Scenic Tour

Cape Town - The scenic tour includes a Cape Town city tour combined with visits to Hout Bay, Simon’s Town, Boulders Beach, and the Cape of Good Hope. The breathtaking sunset will be enjoyed on the Chapman’s Peak drive back to the city.

Dinner will be arranged at the hotel, allowing for relaxation to conclude the vacation.

Relaxation and Restoration Day

Cape Town - This day is more relaxed compared to the rest of the itinerary. You may wake up at your leisure, choosing between breakfast or brunch. Spend the day by the pool with a book, play a round of golf, go shopping, explore more Cape cuisine, hike Lion’s Head Mountain, or enjoy a massage.

This day is reserved for catching up on anything you may have missed. A farewell dinner will be arranged, so bring your dancing shoes.

Farewell

Cape Town - After breakfast, we will be ready to transfer you to the airport. A royal farewell from the hotel will be given, wishing you well on your future travels.
