Excellent Day Trip Safari from Johannesburg Hotel - Really wonderful safari, easily accessible from Johannesburg. The driver Bryan picked me up at my hotel. He was very kind and very professional. We went to one other hotel to pick up other guests, and then it was a smooth 2.5 hour drive to the park. I was able to sleep the whole ride. At the park we met up with Buffalo Soldier, who is an incredibly knowledgeable and passionate guide. I learned so much about the animals and it was so amazing to be in the presence of someone who had such intense fervor for his job. No big cats were seen due to the high grasses, but we had very close encounters with rhinos, elephants, zebras, giraffes, some rarer birds. We were exceptionally lucky and saw a black rhino. Midway through we had lunch at the restaurant which had a really fun overlook. (The sandwiches looked very nice—I recommend against getting the pizza.) Overall it was really a top notch excursion and I highly highly recommend. The organizer had clear communication about pick up beforehand, and everyone I encountered on the tour was lovely. 2.5 hours sounds like a long drive but it really didn’t feel bad at all. I would definitely book again with this company!

Authentic Township Tour & Nelson Mandela History - A very well organized half-day trip checking off all the major landmarks around Johannesburg. Jo’burg was only a transit city for me. 2.5 hours, rather than 2 hours, at the apartheid museum would have been more ideal. The tour guide/driver and also a Soweto native “Bobo” was a highly professional and authentic guide. He made tipping easy by having a credit card reader handy.

Nathi was a great driver... - Nathi was a great driver and provided very good historical and recent insights as we visited the different sites. It ended up being a private tour because no one else had booked the afternoon. There is much to see at the Apartheid Museum so I do plan on going back, but it was good to have that first experience. We stopped at the Mandela house as well and the place of the Soweto youth resistance.

Excellent 1/2 day tour in Johannesburg - This was an excellent tour. Nathi was a wonderful guide -- very friendly & knowledgeable. I learned quite a lot. And as a woman traveling by myself, I had no safety concerns whatsoever. The next time I'm in Johannesburg, I will look up Phillipians 4 Travel again. One note - the Apartheid Museum is currently closed on Mondays & Tuesdays, so we went to Constitution Hill instead, which was also eye-opening. It is the site of a 100+ year-old prison where Mandela (& Gandhi) was jailed for many years before he was taken to Robben Island. If you want to see the Apartheid Museum, though, be sure to book the tour a different day. Definitely worth it.

Great tour! - We had a great tour with Bobo. We felt very safe and looked after throughout the tour. It was really interesting to learn about the aparteid and South Africa's constitution at Constitution Hill. Soweto was great too. It was really informative. The night before the tour, Solly was in touch to check in and provide the pick up time. Overall, it was a well organised tour and I would recommend this to other

The tour was OK but not... - The tour was OK but not great. My biggest complaint was the half day tour ended at the lunch place in Soweto where we spent way too much time to wait for another group to meet there before we were taken back to our hotel. We didn't get back to our hotel until 4 PM, a bit long for a half day tour starting at 9:30. Also, it would have been nice to be escorted through the Apartheid Museum. With the time allotted it was kind of overwhelming to try to pick and choose what to do in the 2 hours.

If you want to have a disappointing time in Joburg book this one - Horrific experience. Tour guide ignored the fact we needed to finish the tour to get a long haul flight. Doing a substitute as the place we paid to visit wasnt open. Spending so long where most people didnt want to be. Adding things to the itinierary as a surprise. Not managing timing. And then blaming us in front of the group for him not managing his time properly
