Fun - Was really fun and informative! Tea and snacks were delicious :). The garden was really nice to look at and they gave seats to people who weren’t comfortable with sitting on the floor.

Can't recommend this... - Can't recommend this experience highly enough. A joy to step out of the maelstrom in the street outside into this incredible garden/tea house too. There was an explanation in English about the history of the tea room and the origins of matcha/the tea ceremony before the tea master performed the ceremony itself. She was incredibly serene and poised as she went through the numerous steps of the ritual. Apparently it takes approx 10 years to become a tea master and it is easy to see why. We were totally enthralled and would absolutely encourage anyone who may have doubts that this is a gimmick for tourists not to worry; it is completely authentic and will be among the top experiences of our 4-week trip to Japan.

Beautiful setting for a beautiful ceremony - Such a lovely experience in a beautiful environment. That’s what you’re really paying for, the setting because I know you can do this in many places. Our host and tea master were excellent.

Tea Ceremony in Kyoto - It was really informative and I'm delighted to have booked this tour before coming to Japan. The scenery of the garden behind is beautiful. They do have chairs if needed, a good option if you don't want to sit on the floor. The matcha tea tastes better than what I've had before.
