I took a piece of kimono history, and art, home. - Lena has a lot of experience in Kimono fabric and their history. It is a hands-on class so you will be the one making the piece you choose to make. You select a pattern first and then a frame style ( rectangle or round canvas), because the canvas style will mostly depend on the pattern you will be using, so pattern first and then frame style. Lena helped me when I needed it, but it was great that she watched over my work and spotted areas where I could improve, without doing the work for me. In the end, I truly have the feeling that I made the entire piece myself. I went back home not only with a beautiful finished product but the box she gave you to carry and protect it, truly looks like a gift box. So, you may think of someone else when making your art and gifting it to that person. The time spent went fast - because it was fun! - but it was enough to not feel rushed at all. I recommend this activity alone or in a group, but if you go with someone else, don't fight over the same fabric to use ;-) Lena has plenty to choose from. Enjoy as much as I did !

A unique experience - This was such a memorable and special experience! The studio was warm and welcoming, and Lena guided me so kindly as I turned an antique kimono into a unique piece of art. I left with not just something beautiful to take home, but also a new appreciation for the history and beauty of kimono. Thank you so much!

It was without a doubt... - It was without a doubt the most memorable experience of my stay in Tokyo. Lena guided me with her deep knowledge of kimono and thoughtful design advice, making the 90 minutes fly by. The joy of transforming a kimono into a new piece of art with my own hands felt like a true treasure. It was a completely tailor-made experience, filled with moments of inspiration and wonder.
