Authentic Japanese calligraphy experience - Yui and Sousen were very attentive and accommodating hosts, and went into great detail for our calligraphy lesson. Highly recommended!

Unforgettable Calligraphy Experience with Ai - I had an amazing calligraphy experience with Ai. She was patient, knowledgeable, and made learning the art of Japanese calligraphy so enjoyable. I highly recommend this workshop for anyone visiting!

wonderful experience!!! - Without a doubt, for those curious about calligraphy, painting, and literature, a nice approach to Shodo (the way of writing) refers to traditional Japanese calligraphy. But also for those who are dazzled by visiting Japan, this course can open a window to understanding this country with its ancient culture.
Two hours taught by a great teacher who speaks perfect English will be enough to get you excited and want to learn more about Japanese calligraphy. Go for it!

Highlight of our trip - Our calligraphy class with our guide Nonoka providing translation and Calligraphy Sensei Sousen was one of the highlights of our trip! Nono really provided perfect translation and a cheerful demanor and Sensai Sousen dazzled us with his "crazy skills"! He could use his brush and draw the Kanji with right, or left hand, and even upside down as he was demonstrating the strokes to us. And their patience with us was unwavering as we did out best to attempt this amazing skill!

Great experience if you... - Great experience if you get the chance to do this. Felt like I was in school again with a really good teacher. Ai was very informative, answered all my questions, patient, and encouraging. Take home a personalized souvenir.

Great experience! - We had so much fun. Our translator and the instructor were fantastic. It is harder than it looks but they coached us and we got better. Would highly recommend!

Wonderful Experience of Traditional Japanese Calligraphy - My guide, Keiko, and sensei Soesen were incredibly warm and created an amazing experience for me. They were very patient with all of my questions. I learned about the foundations of the 3 Japanese alphabets and also gained some knowledge about the history of calligraphy and its cultural importance in Japan.
The two hours went by so quickly that I wanted it to continue!
I have a wonderful memento of my time in the class (my name in kanji!) and lovely memories of my experience with Keiko and sensei Soesen.
I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to try their hand at traditional calligraphy in soothing, encouraging environment with an amazing teacher and guide.
