Yamaguchi City, featured in the New York Times’ “52 Places to Go in 2024,” was governed and developed by the Ouchi clan during the Muromachi period (1336-1573). This event, known as Ouchi Kemari, is organized under the premise that the Ouchi clan might have also enjoyed kemari. Participants will don Muromachi-style attire and engage in kemari using a specially crafted mari ball.
