Amazing experience with family! - We had a fantastic time taking a cooking class with our family while visiting Japan! The hosts were absolutely wonderful—warm, patient, and so knowledgeable. They made the experience fun and engaging for everyone, and we all walked away with new skills and full stomachs. It was a highlight of our trip and something we’ll all remember fondly. Highly recommend!

Unforgettable Experience! - Our son found Eat Osaka after reading some glowing reviews on Reddit. He insisted we take their Street Food Cooking class and I am so glad we did! Booking was easy on Viator and the location was a short walk from the train station. Our lovely host, Miki, welcomed our family and explained each step of the process to us, including the history of the beautiful building we were in. The kitchen was very inviting and easy to work in. Miki was very patient and guided us as we worked on our udon noodles made the traditional way. She made sure to take pictures on our phone as we went to document the experience. We made a simple, but delicious pickled cucumber salad, as well as chicken and vegetable tempura. By the end of our session we were enjoying the delicious meal as Miki answered our questions about the fresh ingredients we used. I’m excited to try the recipe at home now that I know how easy it is to make (the full recipe is provided afterwards via email so you know exactly what you need). I highly recommend that everyone include this experience on their next trip to Osaka. It is one of the most memorable from our trip!

Home Cooking in Osaka - My group of 6 had such an amazing time with Nathalie, one of our favorite experiences from our whole trip to Japan. Nathalie was an excellent teacher while we made pickled cucumber, udon, and tempura from scratch. Not only that, but we also learned some of the tradition and culture of how the food is made. Most importantly, the food was delicious! We also received recipes to take home with us. Highly recommend.

- Natalie made learning how to prepare traditional Japanese dishes both fun and meaningful. Her friendly approach and deep knowledge created a relaxed, hands-on experience. We were so excited to make Udon by hand, and Tempura chicken and vegetables. The pace of the session was relaxed, and anybody with any level of cooking experience would get great enjoyment out of it. The final meal was delicious! We would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a cultural culinary treat in Japan!

An authentic and warm cooking class - I had such a lovely time cooking with Natalie- we actually had a one on one class since I was the only one who had signed up! The food was delicious and her explanations were so interesting. Its clear she has a real passion for Japanese food and cooking. She also shared recommended restaurants for the rest of my trip. The space is also unique, a more than 100-year-old house! I would highly recommend this class.

Basic introduction to a couple of Japanese staples. - This was a very light introduction to Japanese cooking. An appreciation on making homemade udon noodles and tempura batter. It was done in a very controlled environment where perhaps those who actually want to learn to cook might want to be a bit more granular with the detail of the ingredients they were using which was largely already prepared. Enjoyable but a very basic cooking class.
