Informative and delightful - Our host, Keiko, did a wonderful job guiding us through the tea ceremony, both demonstrating her art that she has perfected over many decades, as well as giving us the opportunity to walk through the steps of making matcha in our own.

i hate to say it, but I highly recommend avoiding this - Keiko was very nice, it’s hard to leave a bad review but honesty compels me. In all, you are served one cup of matcha, with the option to make yourself a second. I’m no tea expert, but I would say this matcha is just… ok? Both cups were the same tea. There was no extensive training or discussion or tastings of multiple teas. Also, the kimono/yukata, while hilarious, doubles the price of the experience to 8500 yen. Robbery considering you can go to Yakuma Saryo and pay 7300 yen for a multi-hour tea tasting complete with top sake and food, some of the best tea in the world, in a beautiful setting (rather than a tatami room in a funeral home). It feels terrible to say, but this event feels like an overpriced tourist trap.
