Besides being a tourist destination, the park aims to protect the environment and conserve both fauna and flora by planting trees within the Wildlife Park. This park hosts a total of 279 wildlife species, including Giraffes, Burchell’s Zebras, Elands, Blue Wildebeests, Red Hartebeests, Oryxes, Kudus, and Springboks, among others. The animals were sourced from various game reserves in Namibia. Ensuring Sumu is safe for them, it is a fenced and animal-friendly forest reserve, making it an ideal habitat for the wildlife.

Yankari Game Reserve - Yankari Game Reserve is the nation’s most abundant wildlife sanctuary. At Yankari, visitors can enjoy safaris, explore Marshall Caves, visit the museum, and other tourist attractions. Spanning approximately 2,244 square kilometers (866 sq mi), it is home to a diverse range of wild animals, including the largest population of elephants in West Africa. The reserve also hosts a variety of animals such as primates, waterbucks, bushbucks, oribi, crocodiles, hippopotamuses, roan gazelles, wild oxen, and numerous monkey species.
