• The White House Restaurant (Durrell Family House) - The White House was the home of Lawrence and Nancy Durrell in the 1930s in northeast Corfu. Nested in the picturesque shore of Kalami, overlooking the turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea, the Venetian villa is available to visit as a museum to explore and learn about the family’s story. During our stop there, you can enjoy a drink and relax at their beachfront restaurant while enjoying the view and nature that inspired Lawrence’s writing. The scenic drive from the port to Kalami is about 45 minutes long, and there’s perfect spots on the way to stop for pictures and admire the island’s beauty.

The Durrell family arrived in Corfu in 1935 and remained there until 1939. During these four years, they resided in various locations around the island. This tour invites participants to explore Corfu by tracing the family’s footsteps. Visitors will have the opportunity to see some of their homes on the island and discover charming filming locations from the series. Starting at the port with a meet and greet service at the terminal, the 4.5-hour tour will take guests along Corfu’s picturesque northeast coast to the White House in Kalami, once the residence of Lawrence Durrell and his wife Nancy. The tour will then proceed to Danilia Village, where much of the series was filmed. Participants will visit Kanoni to enjoy the breathtaking views of Mouse Island and the Strawberry Pink Villa, and finally, take a leisurely walk around Corfu Town to admire the statues of the writers in Durrell’s Boschetto and explore the old city of Corfu, a stunning historic center, before returning to the cruise ship.
