- Monastery of Saint John Lampadistes - Once a monastery, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is a complex of three churches – Ioannis Lampadistis, Agios Irakleidios, and a Latin chapel – all sheltered under a single, expansive timber roof.
Situated in the Troodos valley of Marathasa, near the village of Kalopanagiotis, the exact date of the monastery’s founding is unknown. The existing building complex has been extensively reconstructed and restored over various periods.
The church of Agios Ioannis Lampadistis was constructed in 1731. The saint’s tomb, dating back to the 12th century, is located beneath the narrow north-eastern arch, with the saint’s skull resting in a niche. The icon of Lampadistis is from 1543. A fascinating Byzantine museum is located near the church.
- Kykkos Monastery (Panagia tou Kykkou) - Nestled in the mountainous region of Marathasa Valley, the Monastery of Kykkos is the most affluent and opulent on the island, perched on a mountain peak at an altitude of 1,318 meters.
- Platres - This charming village resembles an amphitheater, with the lower part of the village at one altitude and the upper part at another, dividing it into Pano (upper) and Kato (lower) Platres.
- Trooditissa Monastery - Dedicated to the Virgin Mary, this monastery is notable for the natural beauty of its surroundings. It is situated on a mountain peak between Platres and Prodromos village, amidst the pine forest of Troodos, from which it derives its name.
