• Rhino Fund Uganda - The Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is the sole location in Uganda where visitors can trek wild rhinos, with other rhinos residing at the Uganda Wildlife Education Center (formerly the Zoo) in Entebbe. Upon arrival at the sanctuary, a ranger guide will provide a briefing on the appropriate behavior during the rhino trek. It is crucial to follow the ranger’s instructions, as rhinos may become aggressive if they feel threatened. Depending on the rhinos’ location, it may be necessary to drive closer to them before beginning the trek to minimize the distance. The ranger guide will offer insights into rhino behavior and the proper conduct during the trek.

Once the rhinos are located, visitors can spend up to one hour in their presence. Occasionally, different rhino families are nearby, allowing the opportunity to visit multiple groups. Additionally, there is a chance to observe other wildlife during the nature walk, including waterbucks, bushbucks, kobs, leopards (rarely), duikers, and more.

Upon finding the Rhinos, visitors are allowed to spend up to one hour with them. Occasionally, multiple families may be nearby, providing the chance to observe more than one group. Additionally, there is the possibility of encountering other wildlife during this nature walk, such as Waterbucks, Bushbucks, Kobs, the rarely seen Leopard, duikers, and more.
