The drive to Kitgum offers stunning views of northern Uganda’s landscapes, including the flat terrains of Nakasongola, wildlife sightings in Karuma Wildlife Reserve, particularly Olive Baboons, and scenic views of River Kafu and River Nile. Upon arrival in Kitgum, enjoy relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Transfer to Kidepo NP and Enjoy a Game Drive
Kidepo Valley National Park - After a delightful breakfast, proceed to Kidepo Valley National Park, passing through the local homesteads of the Karamojong and other tribes. Arrive at the park by mid-morning, check into your lodge, and relax until lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive to explore the park’s stunning landscapes, including the enchanting Narus Valley. Here, you may encounter a variety of wildlife such as African Elephants, herds of Cape Buffaloes, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Klipspringer, Jackals, and possibly Lions, before returning for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Karimojong Community Tour
Kidepo Valley National Park - Start the day with a morning coffee before setting out on an exciting game drive through the savannahs of Kidepo Valley National Park, interspersed with borassus palm patches and scenic hills. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the sun illuminating the hills of Lomej, the Lotukei Mountains near the Sudan border, and the Morungole range at the park’s southern edge, before the sunlight reaches the expansive valleys of Kidepo and Narus. This extensive 3-4 hour game drive showcases Kidepo’s natural wonders, making it one of Africa’s top parks. Potential sightings include lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, side-striped jackals, Burchell’s Zebra, Eland, Cheetah (unique to Uganda), Guenther’s dik-dik (unique to East Africa), striped hyena, aardwolf, caracal, lesser and greater Kudu, klipspringer, dik-dik, Bright’s gazelle, Chandler’s mountain reedbuck, beisa oryx, African wild dogs, waterbuck, Jackson’s hartebeest, black-backed jackal, among others. Return to Kampala - Full Day Drive
Kidepo Valley National Park - After breakfast, begin the journey back to Kampala, departing early from Kidepo to cover the 700km distance. Arrive in Kampala late in the evening around 8pm, concluding the Uganda tour.

Condensed Schedule
Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Stop at the Uganda Equator Crossing in Kayabwe, enjoy a traditional lunch at the Igongo Cultural Centre en route, and/or take an evening game drive upon arrival.
Day 2: Enjoy a morning wildlife viewing/game drive and an evening boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel.
Day 3: Spend the entire day on a game drive in the Ishasha sector, searching for tree-climbing lions.
Day 4: Go chimpanzee trekking in the Kyambura Gorge and then transfer back to Kampala.
