Walking day in Kanazawa - The old town was very nice to walk around. My husband and I walked around the city with Sho, our tour guide who provides all the details of Kanazawa. It was a fun sunny day in Kanazawa. I will definitely go back again.

Fantastic tour with Hideharu Yoshino in Kanazawa - To mark a very special trip, my wife and I were travelling around Japan for a month, and we wanted to be able to experience and truly understand the cities we were staying in. As part of this trip, we had arranged for a four-hour tour with a fantastic guide that would take us around a very curated and personal tour based on our wishes in Kanazawa. Hideharu Yoshino was a fantastic guide who took the time to sit down with us and understand what we were looking to get out of our tour as well as making some local suggestions of things we weren't necessarily aware of. The tour consisted of several visits to historical sites, as well as lesser-known culturally relevant areas. His passion and knowledge in a number of areas, combined with his great English, really helped make us feel comfortable during the tour. He even recommended a number of places to visit outside of our allotted time, including a great local dinner spot and other things that we visited the following day. We would highly recommend this tour to get a great snapshot of the city and a fantastic guide who is welcoming, willing to personalise the experience, and extremely friendly.

Excellent guided tour in Kanazawa, highly recommended! - We had a fantastic 4 hour private tour in Kanazawa with our guide, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. The guide was very well-prepared and managed to show us a wide range of highlights at a comfortable and relaxed pace. He shared a lot of interesting information about Japanese history and culture, and really helped us understand the significance of what we were seeing. All of our questions were answered patiently, which made the experience even more engaging. There’s no way we would have discovered as much on our own, many of the places we visited were hidden gems we would’ve easily missed. We were also traveling with our 15-month-old baby in a carrier, and that was no issue at all. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to get the most out of their time in Kanazawa!

A great walk through Kanazawa’s history with Yoshi - The tour was very informative and interesting. Our first time to Kanazawa and our Guide Yoshi took us on a very nice walk through the Kanazawa castle and garden area. We learned about the garden and how it was built, especially how the park was made and designed with the different features of the running streams, ponds, rock formations and trees. Going through the castle, palace area was interesting with the design and certain aspects that Yoshi was able to tell us about. The walk through the Tea district where the Geisha houses were located was fun. We were able to go through one of the houses and he told us about certain details inside of the house. Walking through the old houses that still remain and learning about this part of Kanazawa history was a great experience especially since he was able to relate it to other areas of Japan and their histories as well. Going to the gold leaf shop, where they make the gold leaf and items with it was very interesting especially since it is one of the attractions of Kanazawa’s history. Without Yoshi, we wouldn’t have been able learn about the area, especially this part of Kanazawa and its history. He was very good with questions and made the walk very enjoyable and relaxed. Thank you Yoshi for a great tour and experience!!

Enlightening 4 hour tour in Kanazowa - Our guide was Sachi. She was on time and very personable. She did an excellent job of taking us to and through the major sites in Kanazawa that we agreed to in advance. She was knowledgeable and showed us pictures to reinforce her information. When we asked her a question she did not know she was careful to either look it up on the internet or ask one of the experts at the location. We learned about Shinto, geisha women and the neighborhood and the eras of Edo, Samurai, and Magi. She asked at appropriate intervals if we wanted a rest stop or snacks. Lastly in the Kenrokeun Garden we learned about the symbolism of many of the features. The morning went very quickly. We were not interested in shopping so did not stop at many shops. Her English was very good. I am hard of hearing and she tried very nicely to speak loud enough for me and was comfortable explaining if we did not hear or understand her. Wewould definitely recommend her guiding services

Tour of the Samurai District of Kanazawa plus kimono museum - We really enjoyed our time with Jasmine. Our interest was in the samurai era of Kanazawa’s history. She gave us an overview and explained Kanazawa’s history in relation to Japan of that time. Then we went to the samurai district. She explained along the way different levels of samurai society. She pointed out the house still occupied by a samurai descendent. Then we went to the Nomura house for a tour. She gave us information about each room about its use and original furnishings. After that we went to the Ninja Dera Temple which actually has nothing to do with ninjas. It was a temple for the Lord Maeda to be able to worship safely as well as a safe house for his retainers. Then we added in a stop at the yuzen kimono museum. We had time to have a snack and chat before our time was over. Jasmine is very professional and agreeable to changes along the way. She is very knowledgeable and very good at explaining the history and significance of what we saw. We used the city buses to move around so that was something else she easily explained. We really enjoyed our time with her and highly recommend her.
