He reportedly dreamt of the deity Eshwara beneath a rock, suggesting a kovil (temple) be built there. He shared this dream with his landlord, Arunasalam Ramanathan Chettiar, who then informed King Rajasinghe. The king subsequently ordered the construction of the kovil at this location.
