Knuckles Mountain Range - Silent Forest

Knuckles Mountain Range - A representative will pick up guests from their hotel in Kandy and transport them to the Knuckles Range. The pickup will be early in the morning, with the exact time depending on the hotel’s location. A guide will lead the exploration of the Knuckles Mountain Range, including a trek along the Tea Trail up to the Silent Forest area, navigating gravel paths and bush forests. Participants will cross wooden bridges and observe endemic flora and fauna. They will encounter a large, silent rocky plateau and enjoy views from the peak. The trek includes walking through evergreen dwarf cloud forests, with endemic creepers and cane bamboo. A picnic lunch can be enjoyed during the trek, either at a waterfall with a natural pool or at Knuckles Peak. The adventure continues with a downhill trek from the turning point to the eastern slope, completing a circular trek around the large rocky plateau. The day concludes with a downhill trek to the exclusive base camp, where guests can stay overnight at the foot of the Knuckles on the eastern slope, with all facilities provided.

Downhill Trek - Traditional Village

Knuckles Mountain Range - The day’s journey begins with a delightful breakfast at the campsite. Guests will embark on a downhill trek through tea plantations, enjoying panoramic views. The trek continues into a high forest filled with cloud trees, pine, eucalyptus, and turpentine trees. Along the way, participants can spot birds, small animals, and butterflies. The trek includes crossing a waterfall and a natural pool, offering an opportunity for a swim in the crystal-clear, albeit slightly chilly, water. After traversing magical terraced rice fields, guests will enter a traditional village. Along the route, they will see vegetable and spice gardens and have the chance to meet villagers and learn about their culture. An authentic lunch will be served in the village. It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes and clothing, as the trek can be muddy and wet. However, the experience promises to be amazing. Guests will return to their hotel in the evening, with the exact time depending on the hotel’s location and traffic conditions.
