- Temple of the Gadaladenia - Gadaladeniya Rajamaha Viharaya with an ancient monastery is found on the flat rock at Diggala in the district of Kandy. According to a inscription there this temple was built by King Buwanekabahu IV in the year 1344. The chief architect of this temple has been a south indian called Ganesvarachari. Therefore this temple is essentially built in accordance with the Indian Vijayanagar architectural style.
- Embekka Dewalaya - In the Udu Nuwara area of the Kandy district lies a temple with a history of over six centuries. Built during the reign of King Wickremabahu III (1371-1394AD) who ruled in the Kingdom of Gampola, the temple is practically covered in wood carvings. The woodwork is confirmed by UNESCO as some of the best and most detailed in the world. The temple is dedicated to the god known as ‘Murugan’ by the Hindus and ‘Katharagama deity’ by the Buddhists.
- Lankatilaka Temple - Lankatilaka is Buddhist temple of the 14th century in the Hiyarapitiya village, from the Udu Nuwara area of Kandy district in Sri Lanka. This historical temple was built by the Gampola king, King Buwanekabahu the fourth (1341 – 1351AD), in 1344 AD. Gampola was a stronghold on the banks of Mahaveli River.
- Kandy Spice Walk - can see how Sri lankan traditional herbs and spices are made and used for foods and Ayurveda. Also can taste these spices and herbs.

Good Day Out - Great communication before and during trip. Provided water and cold towel which were welcome. Visited all sights as per itinerary, but we did not do the tea tour as we had already done two elsewhere, but did do the commonwealth war graves. Note that this is not a fully guided tour. You are taken to the sites and shown where to get tickets and where to meet afterwards. Very informative about Kandy when travelling between sites.

Great Kandy day trip - Great day roaming around Kandy.
Aruna spent a full 10 hours (!) showing us the history and beauty of Kandy.
Super knowledgeable and incredibly conscious of our comfort in the heat on a long day.
Botanical gardens were incredible, the head temples stunning.
Highly recommend the day tour. Felt very safe and comfortable with him driving - Kandy traffic is not something we’re ready for as Aussies :)

Day Trip/Tour in Kandy & Sorroundings - I booked this day tour last minute on my last day in Kandy. Aruna confirmed promptly and communicated very well and professionally. The entire day was lovely and very rewarding in seeing different parts of Kandy and sorroundings.
Aruna was very professional, courteous, agreeable and made the tour quite enjoyable. Overall, a great day experience.

The driver is calm, driving his brand new tuk-tuk with seatbelts.Tailor the tour to your liking, and we were able to visit off the beaten path, seeing villages and temples away from bustling Kandy.He also helped me with shopping at supermarkets and getting tickets.I highly recommend spending a day in Kandy with Aruna, or even spending your entire trip in Sri Lanka with him, as he also has a car so you can do this.Thank you so much for giving me a safe and peaceful day away from the crowded tourist spots of Kandy.Gemma

Amazing day with Aruna 🤗 - We had an amazing trip from Kandy to Nanuoya with our driver Aruna😊 He took us in his brand new tuk-tuk, which even had seat belts — we felt super safe and comfortable the whole way. There was plenty of space for our four bags, and the ride was smooth and enjoyable.
Along the way, he shared interesting stories and cultural facts, making the journey really special. We stopped at a beautiful waterfall, and he even walked with us to make sure we had a great experience — it was honestly one of the coolest things we’ve done in Sri Lanka!
He also took us to the Kingswood Tea Factory, where we learned how tea is made, and later helped us get the best train tickets the rest of the way to Ella. He drove carefully through the mountains with incredible views, always stopping when we wanted to take photos.
We had such a great time talking and sharing stories about our different cultures — he’s truly one of the best guides and people we’ve met on our trip.
We’re so grateful for this unforgettable experience! 🙏🌿

High quality service - Aruna was very professional, he brought me and my husband to Ambuluwawa tower from our hotel in Kandy in brand new tuk tuk, on the way we stopped by the restaurant to try local food and he paid for our meal. Very nice and polite man. Highly recommend.
