A Birthday Treat (Bucket List Item) - On Sunday 3 generations of our family (mother, daughter and granddaughter) took the plunge at the Kangaroo Point Cliffs, something I wanted to do for a long time. A birthday was the perfect occasion. Although we were a bit nervous, our instructor Jarrod made the whole experience much less daunting than initially thought. He explained the procedure in a way that each of us could understand well and made us feel at ease. In the end my 9 year old granddaughter and myself abseiled 3x and my daughter twice. It felt like a private event for us, as we were the only participants that morning. We will cherish the moments on the cliff face forever! Thank you Riverlife Adventure Centre.

Awesome instructor - We had an awesome time abseiling and Lleyton was an outstanding instructor. It was the first time for us all so a little daunting but Lleyton made it a lot of fun (and calmed the nerves!). Testament to Lleyton that everyone in our party went straight back up for another go!

Over the top adventure for every Peter Parker or Gwen Stacey fan - Dan our instructor/guide/inspirator was fantastic. His ability to educate and put at ease people of varying ages & nationalities was second to none. Introducing or reconnecting us to the most rewarding of adventures. Yes, the views, thrill & rewards are definately worth climbing a stair or two for. This is the best value for money experience in South east Queensland.

Thanks l for not dropping us, Kim! - My partner and I loved our experience. Kim was our abseiling instructor and he was very professional and charismatic. He explained everything clearly and calmly, and we both felt very safe. Super fun experience, great weather. 10/10 Kim, have the best time in Australia :)

If you have abseiled... - If you have abseiled before, you may be disappointed. Only had one instructor and needed an additional. One overseas couple too focussed on taking posing photos and safety was compromised. Also made things very slow.

Need more than once down the cliff - The instructors, especially Hunker, were amazing! Hunker calmed me down and really helped me feel OK with taking that first step off the cliff. Without her reassuring words, I would not have done this but I’m glad I did. The money spent on this activity should have included more than just once down the cliffs because that’s not enough for the money paid. They either need more instructors or reduce the number of people for each session. They also need to put a time limit on getting off the cliff. One very young girl took 30-45 minutes away from everyone else trying to get up the courage before she said she couldn’t do it. During that time, the others could have tried a second time down the cliffs.

⭐ 1/5 — Very Disappointing Abseiling Experience at Riverlife Adventure Centre - I recently went to Riverlife Adventure Centre for the abseiling experience with my two kids, and it was a huge disappointment. We spent almost two hours just waiting for our turn, as the group size was far too large for a single instructor to manage effectively. The equipment was outdated and poorly maintained. There were no proper systems for kids — they were given adult gear that was way too big for them. The helmets were extremely dirty, uncomfortable, and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in ages. When the instructor finally brought out a basket of gloves, that was the final straw — they were the cheapest possible gloves, full of holes, filthy, and clearly reused over and over. There were no gloves sized for children, so my kids had to wear huge adult gloves that were practically useless. It was clear that nobody cares about the condition or cleanliness of the gear. For the price we paid for just a couple of minutes of abseiling, the value was terrible. The experience felt unsafe, disorganised, and poorly managed. I will never return and do not recommend Riverlife Adventure Centre to anyone — especially families with kids.
