Day 1: Journey to Sipi Falls – Eastern Circuit

Day 1: Journey to Sipi Falls – Eastern Circuit
Sipi Falls - Begin the adventure with a pick-up from a hotel in Kampala, heading towards Sipi Falls via the Eastern route, passing through Mukono, Jinja, Iganga, and Mbale. On the way to Sipi Falls, there will be a stop at Ssezibwa Falls, a picturesque waterfall in Mukono, which holds cultural significance for the Buganda Kingdom. From Ssezibwa, the journey continues through Mabira Forest and Jinja, offering a beautiful view of the Nile River as you cross the new bridge for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Abseiling and Hiking – Sipi Falls
Sipi Falls - After breakfast, embark on a 7 to 8 km hike along the Sipi Falls trail to explore the three stunning waterfalls, which vary in heights of 75, 85, and 100 meters. After enjoying the breathtaking views and capturing photographs, partake in an abseiling adventure. The evening will be spent enjoying a leisurely dinner and an overnight stay at the pre-booked lodge or resort.
Day 3: Community and Coffee Tour around Mt. Elgon
Mt. Elgon National Park - Meet a local guide for an extensive coffee tour in the Sipi Falls/Mt. Elgon area. Experience the fascinating process of coffee cultivation in the Bugisu region. The guide will explain the stages of coffee growing, harvesting, drying, sorting, frying, pounding into powder, and preparing it for tea until it is served. During the coffee tour, savor the taste of Bugisu coffee while enjoying a homestay.
Day 4: Cultural and Traditional Dance, Community Walk
Day 5: Travel to Moroto
Kidepo Valley National Park - After breakfast, embark on a journey to Kidepo Valley National Park in Northeastern Uganda. Enjoy the stunning views of the Karamoja plains during the drive, with lunch en route, followed by a check-in at your accommodation.
Day 6: Hike Mount Moroto and Transfer to Kidepo Valley Park
Kidepo Valley National Park - Begin the hike to the summit of Moroto Mountain, located in Northeastern Uganda, standing at an altitude of 3083 meters. It is Karamoja’s highest extinct volcano, featuring three peaks: Sokodek, Imagit, and Sogolomon. Enjoy a half-day hike through Mount Moroto, exploring the gentle elevation descent, and then transfer to Kidepo.
Day 7: Hike Mount Morungole and Meet the IK People
Kidepo Valley National Park - Depart the lodge for Mt. Morungole to start the hike to the summit and meet the IK people. Mt. Morungole stands at 2750 meters and offers a moderate hike. Upon reaching the top, meet the IK, also known as Teuso, a tribal/ethnic group residing in Northeastern Uganda. Known as the Mountain People, the IK live atop Mt. Morungole. Gain a deep understanding of their unique traditions, cultures, hunter-gatherer practices, spiritual beliefs, and more. Descend from Mount Morungole and transfer to the lodge for relaxation.
Day 8: Early Morning Game Drive in Kidepo Valley Park
Kidepo Valley National Park - With an experienced guide, set off from the lodge for a full-day game drive through Kidepo savanna plains. Kidepo is a remarkable wilderness area, offering genuine African experiences and wildlife encounters. Anticipated animal sightings include African bush elephants, caracals, zebras, lions, giraffes, cape buffaloes, antelopes, leopards, and various birds. Enjoy a picnic lunch or return to the lodge for lunch, and later in the afternoon, continue with an evening guided nature walk with an experienced park guide.
Day 9: Visit the Karamojong Community
Kidepo Valley National Park - Rise early, have breakfast, and then head to the Karamojong community/village, also known as Manyatta. Spend the day with the Karamojong, traditional pastoralists, learning about their traditions, cultures, and practices. Witness the naming festival of animals and humans.
Day 10: Road Trip from Kidepo to Murchison Falls National Park
Murchison Falls National Park - Depart Kidepo for Murchison Falls National Park, which spans four districts in Northwestern Uganda: Nwoya, Kiryandongo, Buliisa, and Masindi. Murchison Falls NP is Uganda’s largest park, covering over 3840 square kilometers and home to over 76 mammal species, 451 bird species, and various floral species. En route to Murchison National Park, detour to Aruu Falls, one of Northern Uganda’s spectacular waterfalls, enjoy lunch, and then continue to Murchison Falls.
Day 11: Game Drive and Mini Hike at the Top of the Falls
Murchison Falls National Park - Embark on an early morning game drive starting at 6:00 am. Travel through the scenic northern game track, spending 2 to 3 hours spotting animals such as waterbucks, African bush elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, hartebeest, oribis, Uganda kobs, and various bird species. In the afternoon, enjoy a hike to the top of the falls, where you can take photos and watch the waterfalls force through a narrow 8-meter rock.
Day 12: Morning Delta Cruise on the Nile and Afternoon Boat Cruise to the Bottom of the Falls
Murchison Falls National Park - Begin the day with breakfast and set off for a morning Nile Delta boat cruise. Observe hippos, crocodiles, and the scenic view of the Nile. Return for lunch, followed by an afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. Spot aquatic species such as hippos, crocodiles, and water birds in large numbers, and take pictures of the falls at the base.
Day 13: Transfer to Budongo Forest
Budongo Forest Chimpanzee Tracking - Depart from the Northern circuit to the Southern Province to explore Budongo Forest. Enjoy a guided nature walk through the Royal Mile, a rich birding spot to observe birds such as brown-chested alethe, Nahan’s francolin, white-spotted greenbul, blue-breasted kingfishers, rufous-sided broadbill, chocolate-backed kingfishers, fire-crested alethe, and African dwarf kingfishers. In the evening, visit the Polish Church in Nyabyeya near Masindi. Discover the unique history of the Polish Catholic Church, built by Polish refugees in the 1940s near Masindi town, where many Polish people succumbed to jiggers, sickness, and hunger during World War II.
Day 14: Transfer to Kampala via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Murchison Falls National Park - After breakfast, depart the hotel and proceed to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking. This is the only place in Uganda where rhinos can be observed in their natural habitat. After a 2-hour trek with the rhinos, return and be driven back to Entebbe for departure or stay at a hotel in Entebbe city.
