• Roussanou Monastery - Explore Roussanou for a unique perspective of the surrounding cliffs and nearby monasteries. • Holy Monastery of Saint Nicholas Anapafsas at Meteora - This is the first monastery encountered on the way from the village to Meteora. It stands on a very narrow rock, offering stunning views of the holy rocks and the valley!
• Monastery of St. Stephan - The Holy Monastery of Agios Stefanos is one of the few female monasteries in Meteora. The exact date of its construction is unknown, but some evidence suggests it was built in the 15th century. The beautiful wall paintings of the Catholicon were completed in 1560. This is also the easiest monastery to access. The monastery is closed on Mondays.
• Monastery of the Holy Trinity at Meteora - The Monastery of Holy Trinity is situated atop the most impressive rock and is the most challenging monastery to reach, as visitors must cross the valley and ascend 140 steps to reach the entrance. In the past, access was via rope ladders and nets, with the steps added no earlier than 1925. The monastery is closed on Thursdays.
