Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Kathmandu - Upon arrival at the airport, the guide or office staff will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel.

Lukla to Phakding

Phakding - Upon reaching Lukla, the guide and porter will greet you. Begin the journey towards Phakding, descending to the Dudh Koshi Ghat and following the riverbank. This marks your introduction to the Everest Region, where you can already feel the refreshing air and the warmth of the locals. Overnight stay in Phakding.

Please note: Occasionally, flights to and from Lukla operate from Ramechhap instead of Kathmandu due to ongoing upgrades at Kathmandu Airport. The drive from Kathmandu to Ramechhap takes about 4 hours, requiring a 2 am departure. The return journey at the trek’s end takes between 4 and 6 hours, depending on traffic.

Phakding to Namche Bazaar

Namche Bazaar - Cross the Dud Koshi River on a long suspension bridge and walk through pine forests until reaching the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park, where permits will be checked. After a downhill walk to Jorsale for lunch, continue uphill to Namche. Along the way, cross another bridge, the Hillary Suspension Bridge. This is the first significant climb. Upon arrival in Namche Bazaar, enjoy your first view of Mount Everest! Overnight stay in Namche.

Namche Bazaar Acclimatization Day

Everest View Point - Given the high altitude and the journey ahead, an acclimatization day is essential. Take a 2-hour hike to Everest View Point or explore Namche. Visit the Sherpa museum, and on Saturdays, enjoy a small outdoor market. Overnight stay in Namche.

Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

Tengboche - Tengboche is renowned for being the largest monastery in the Khumbu (Everest) Region. Today, visit the monastery and receive blessings. From here, admire the majestic mountains, including Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Khumbila, all sacred to the Sherpas. Overnight stay in Tengboche.

Tengboche to Dingboche

Dingboche - Trek through alpine forests and pass through villages to observe local life. Walk through the Khumbila Khola Valley and ascend to a ridgeline with views of Taboche, Nuptse, Cholatse, and more as you reach Dingboche. Notice the changing landscape with fewer trees and more shrubs. Overnight stay in Dingboche.

Acclimatization Day at Dingboche

Dingboche - At high altitudes, it’s crucial to acclimatize and rest, so today is dedicated to that. Explore Dingboche and the surrounding Chhukung and Imja Valleys. Imja connects to Island Peak and the Makalu Barun National Park, which could be explored on a future trek. Overnight stay in Dingboche.

Dingboche to Lobuche

Lobuche - The trek becomes more challenging with the increasing altitude, so proceed slowly. Climb steeply to a hilltop with memorial stupas for those who lost their lives on Everest. Continue over the mountain terrain to Lobuche, where you’ll be amazed by views of Lobuche, Pumori, and Nuptse.

Lobuche to Gorakshep and Everest Base Camp

Gorakshep - The much-anticipated day of reaching Everest Base Camp! Start with an easy trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep, then navigate rocky trails with dunes and moraine to reach base camp. From here, view the famous Khumbu Glacier and Icefall and possibly meet climbers preparing to scale the world’s highest mountain. After capturing stunning photos and enjoying the moment, return to Gorakshep for an overnight stay.

Gorakshep to Kalapathar and on to Pheriche or Panboche

Pheriche - If yesterday was a photographer’s dream, today offers breathtaking views of Everest from Kalapathar. Rise before dawn to witness the sunrise over Mount Everest. Nuptse Nup, Changtse, and Lhotse are also illuminated by the first rays of the sun. Standing atop Kalapathar provides the closest views of Everest without climbing to the peak! Reluctantly, descend to Gorakshep for breakfast and continue to Pheriche. If energy permits, proceed to Panboche for an overnight stay.

Pheriche to Namche

Namche Bazaar - Descend mainly downhill from Pheriche to Tengboche and Namche Bazaar, where you will spend the night.

Namche to Phakding and Lukla

Lukla - On the final day of the trek, cross the Hillary Suspension Bridge once more and bid farewell to the Sherpa community as you arrive in Lukla in the afternoon for a traditional group farewell party!

Lukla to Kathmandu

Lukla - Take an early morning flight from Lukla to either Kathmandu or Ramechhap, depending on the situation at Kathmandu airport.

The journey commences with a remarkable flight into Lukla Airport at an elevation of 2,860 meters. Immediately upon arrival, you’ll embark on a 3 to 4-hour trek to Phakding. Don’t be fooled by the deceiving simplicity, this is the Himalayas, and each day offers it’s own unique set of trials! Expect to be walking for around 5 hours a day, although some days will extend to 7 or 8 hours. With a landscape marked by alpine forests, settlements, rapid glacier-fed rivers, and mountains, every day introduces a new spectacle to wonder at.

Notable experiences of the trek include visiting the renowned Namche Bazaar, the gateway to numerous Everest expeditions; touring the Tengboche Monastery, the region’s biggest monastery; ascending the Everest viewpoint at Kalapatthar; and, naturally, standing at Everest Base Camp.

The walk from Gorakshep to Base Camp, and back is a laborious 6 to 7 hours on rocky terrains formed by glacial deposits. All the while, you are enveloped by the imposing presence of Mount Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and additional peaks.
