Kathmandu - The Annapurna Base Camp Trek begins in Kathmandu. After breakfast, travelers will embark on a luxury Tourist Bus to Pokhara. The journey offers picturesque views of scenic hills and glimpses of the Trisuli and Marsyangdi Rivers. Additionally, travelers may catch sight of Ganesh Himal and the Manaslu peak during the ride.
Pokhara - After a 6-7 hour bus ride from Kathmandu, travelers will arrive in Pokhara, a renowned tourist destination in Nepal. Known for its stunning landscape, vibrant atmosphere, and clean, green environment, Pokhara is a true paradise for tourists. Upon arrival, visitors can explore the city or enjoy some leisure time by the lakeside.
Drive to Nayapul (1070m / 3312 ft) and trek to Ghandruk (1940 m / 6396 ft) (12km/7.4mi) 4-5 hrs, Tea House Accommodation
Ghandruk - After breakfast at the hotel, travelers will drive to Ghandruk, a journey of approximately 3-3.5 hours from Pokhara. Situated at an altitude of 1940 meters, Ghandruk is a charming village predominantly inhabited by the Gurung community. Visitors with extra time can explore the Gurung museum and experience the local dance and lifestyle. Overnight accommodation will be in Ghandruk.
Trek to Chhomrong (2170 m/ 7118 ft) (9.7km/6.2mi) 5 – 6 hrs
Chhomrong - From Ghandruk, the trek involves an uphill climb for about an hour to Kimrungdanda, offering breathtaking views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Fishtail Mountain (Machhapuchhre), and Gangapurna. After a steep descent to Kimrong Khola, another ascent leads to Chere Danda. From there, a descent followed by a gentle walk brings travelers to Chhomrong, a picturesque Gurung village nestled at the base of the Annapurna massif. Today’s trek to Chhomrong (2170 meters) takes 5-6 hours.
Trek to Himalaya (2920 m / 9577 ft) (12km/7.4mi) (6-7 hrs)
Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 m / 13,546 ft) via Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700 m / 12,136 ft) (12.5km/7.7mi) 5 hrs
Machhapuchhare Base Camp - A one-hour walk from Himalaya leads to Deurali, followed by a gentle climb through a riverbed and a steep ascent to the mountainside of Bagar. The hike from Bagar to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700 meters) can be challenging, but the views of Machhapuchhre, Mt. Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gandharva Chuli, and Gangapurna are spectacular.
Annapurna Base Camp - From Machhapuchhre Base Camp, the trek continues to Annapurna Base Camp. The forested vegetation, characteristic of the ABC trek, fades away as the trail widens. After trekking for 90 minutes to 2 hours from MBC, travelers reach Annapurna Base Camp (4130 meters). The day’s trek from Himalaya to Annapurna Base Camp takes 5-6 hours, offering breathtaking views of the south face of Annapurna.
From Annapurna Base Camp, travelers can enjoy panoramic views of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Hiunchuli, and other peaks.
Trek to Bamboo from Annapurna Base Camp (2310 m / 7576 ft) (14km/8.6mi) 7 – 8 hrs
Trek to Jhinu Danda (1780 m / 5838 ft) (8.5km/5.2mi) 5 – 6 hrs
Jhinu Danda - The trek begins with an uphill climb to Kuldighar, followed by a descent to Chhomrong Khola. After an hour-long uphill trek through stone steps, travelers reach Chhomrong. The trail then descends to Jhinu Danda, where travelers will spend the night. The trek to Jhinu Danda (1780 meters) takes 5-6 hours. In Jhinu Danda, visitors can enjoy a hot spring bath, located just a half-hour downhill trek away.
Trek to Naya Pul then drive to Pokhara (18km/11.1mi), 6 hrs trek, 1 hr drive
Naya Pul - The journey from Jhinu Danda to Naya Pul offers stunning views of the hilly landscape of the ACAP region. Travelers will hike alongside Modi Khola for 4-5 hours before reaching Birethanti, enjoying one of the most pleasant walks of the trip. The day’s trek is mostly flat, and after an hour to 90 minutes from Birethanti, travelers will arrive at Nayapul.
Pokhara - A one-hour drive from Nayapul brings travelers back to Pokhara, where they will stay overnight.
Leisure day in Pokhara
Pokhara - This day is reserved for leisure in Pokhara. Travelers can embark on a self-guided sightseeing tour, visiting some of the country’s most beautiful lakes, such as Phewa Lake, Begnas Lake, and Rupa Lake, and enjoy boating. Pokhara also boasts adventurous caves like Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, Bat Cave, and Mahendra Cave, offering plenty of exciting activities. Alternatively, travelers can relax and unwind at their hotel.
Drive back to Kathmandu from Pokhara
Kathmandu - In the afternoon, travelers will take a scenic flight or bus ride back to Kathmandu from Pokhara, offering a final opportunity to admire the mountains of the Annapurna Region. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, travelers will head to their hotel, where they can enjoy a leisure day, shop for souvenirs, or explore any missed landmarks. To celebrate the successful completion of the ABC trek, a farewell dinner will be organized in the evening.
