Kathmandu Tour of 4 World Heritage Sites
Pashupatinath Temple - Pashupatinath is a pagoda-style Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, revered as a center of Hindu spiritual power. Nestled in a lush green setting on the banks of the sacred Bagmati River, the temple is located 6 km from Kathmandu city. Behind the temple are the cremation grounds.
Swayambhunath Temple - This Buddhist Stupa, believed to be 2000 years old, features a stunning architecture with a gilded spire and a whitewashed dome, surrounded by thousands of fluttering prayer flags. From the spire, four faces of Buddha gaze out across the valley in the cardinal directions.
Kathmandu Durbar Square - Kathmandu Durbar Square is one of the three royal palace squares in the Kathmandu Valley. This site served as the royal residence until the 19th century and was the venue for important ceremonies, such as the coronation of the Nepalese monarch.
Boudhanath Stupa - Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, this massive stupa attracts thousands of pilgrims daily who perform a ritual circumnavigation of the dome, under the watchful eyes of the Buddha, which gaze out from the gilded central tower. It is one of the few places where Tibetan Buddhist culture is accessible and vibrant, with the surrounding lanes filled with monasteries and Buddhist life.

Ghorepani - This morning, there is an optional ascent to Poon Hill (about an hour’s walk above Ghorepani) to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himals. Trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk
Ghandruk - Enjoy an easier walk today through beautiful uninhabited forest with magnificent mountain views. This forest is a highlight of the trek. Look out for monkeys and high forest birds, including Tragopan, Juniper Finch, and Rosefinches. Emerge from the forest just above Ghandruk, the largest Gurung village in the area. This region is primarily inhabited by subsistence farmers who tend to the meticulously arranged terraces. These terraces, stretching thousands of feet down steep hillsides, are a work of art, and the Nepalis are experts at utilizing every piece of land. Wheat, rice, and vegetables are grown year-round on the well-maintained terraces. Although there are many new modern lodges in Ghandruk, there are still older traditional houses with neat slate roofs. In the afternoon, your leader will take you on a village walk, and in the evening, relax in the teahouse and watch the sunset on Annapurna South.
Trek from Ghandruk to Nayal and Drive to Pokhara
Pokhara - Descend on stone staircases towards the Modi Khola, passing through Shyauli Bazaar to reach the charming village of Birethanthi, where lunch is enjoyed overlooking the river. A short walk brings you to NayaPul, where the road is met, and a drive back to Pokhara follows. This afternoon, explore the picturesque lakeside of Pokhara. Consider a boat trip on the lake to spot water birds or simply relax in one of the many lakeside cafes.
Fly back to Kathmandu
