The Everest Base Camp Trek offers numerous breathtaking attractions, though it also presents some unique challenges that might discourage potential trekkers if not for the incredible opportunity to say they have visited the world’s highest mountain. The trek’s highlights include stunning landscapes and the friendly Sherpa community of the Solu Khumbu region. However, the trek’s challenges include the region’s terrain. It is not until reaching the Solu Khumbu area that the Everest trek becomes truly captivating. The initial part of the trek is not only a strenuous effort but also lacks impressive trekking views. The difficulty arises because the trek does not follow a valley like the Annapurna treks; instead, the Everest trek crosses valleys, resulting in a tiring routine of descending one side of a steep valley and ascending the other. By the time trekkers reach the base camp, their total ascents will amount to nearly 9,000 meters, equivalent to the full height of Everest from sea level!
