Kathmandu - Use this free day to acclimate to the new environment of Kathmandu. Visit our office for a brief discussion about the trek. If you need trekking gear, explore Thamel for your purchases. Enjoy an evening stroll and savor delicious local dishes. Optionally, you can embark on a Half-Day Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour.
35-40 Minute Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla 2860 M. and Same Day Trek to Phakding 2660 M. (3-4 hours)
Phakding - Start your day with an early breakfast. We fly early to avoid adverse weather conditions. Enjoy a short 35-40 minute flight with breathtaking landscapes and mountain views. Upon landing at Lukla airport, prepare for the trek to Phakding. Walk through Lukla town and lush forests before reaching Phakding. Overnight stay at a local lodge.
Important notice: “Lukla flights are departing and returning to Ramechhap Manthali airport due to ongoing upgrades at Kathmandu airport. It’s about a 4/5 hour drive to Ramechhap from Kathmandu, so we will depart for the airport around 2:30 am. The return drive at the end of the trek is also 4/5 hours.”
Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar 3440 M. (5-6 hours)
Namche Bazaar - Begin your journey towards Monjo, where you will find the Sagarmatha National Park Authorized office. Get your permits checked and enter the National Park. Enjoy walking through Sagarmatha National Park, experiencing deep woods and traditional Sherpa settlements. You will also see the Dudhkoshi river and finally ascend to Namche Bazaar. Take a short evening walk around the city if you wish.
Rest Day & Excursion Day
Namche Bazaar - Spend this day acclimatizing and exploring Namche Bazaar. Hike up to Hotel Everest Viewpoint for stunning photos of Mt. Everest and other towering peaks at sunrise. The breathtaking landscapes and the incredible Khumjung village are visible from Hotel Everest View. Afterward, return to Namche Bazaar, and some may choose to visit Thame Monastery. Enjoy an evening walk around the city, exploring shops, cafes, hotels, ATMs, and beauty salons.
Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche 3870 M
Tengboche - Enjoy today’s trail with a magnificent view of Amadablam. It takes 15-20 minutes to pass through Namche Bazaar before reaching the main trail. Trekkers will see mules and yaks carrying supplies. Enjoy the walk along the newly made flat trail and descend to the riverside. Cross the river and ascend to Tengboche. The holy Tengboche monastery is the main attraction of Tengboche town.
Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche 4460 M. (5-6 hours)
Dingboche - The view of Amadablam remains dominant throughout today’s journey. Enjoy walking through the deep woods of Sagarmatha National Park. Cross the Dindboche Khola (river) while approaching Dingboche. Arrive in Dingboche and explore this beautiful town.
Rest and Excursion Day
Dingboche - Some may choose to rest and relax at the lodge, while others may walk to Chukkung Valley. The walk to Chukkung Valley begins after breakfast and takes 2-3 hours. Have lunch there and trek back to Dingboche for an overnight stay. The Island Peak and other Himalayan giants are breathtaking from Chukkung Valley. Some trekkers also enjoy climbing Chukkung Ri.
Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche 4910 M
Lobuche - Pass through several ridges to reach Lobuche today. The mountain views along the way are equally magnificent. Enjoy the alpine bushes and dry landscapes on today’s trail. Pass the Sherpa People’s graveyard before arriving at Lobuche, located by the riverside.
Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep 5160 M. & Hike to Everest Base Camp 5364 M. – Gorakshep (7-8 hours)
Gorakshep - Today’s trek offers incredible mountain panoramas, glaciers, and avalanches. Initially, trek to Gorakshep, the town below Kalapatthar, have lunch there, and then proceed to Everest Base Camp. Celebrate reaching the base camp of the world’s highest peak and return to Gorakshep for an overnight stay.
Early Morning Hike from Gorakshep to Kalapatthar 5550 M. & Trek Down to Pheriche 4260 M
Kala Patthar - Rise between 4:30-5 am and climb Kalapatthar. Reach the top and wait for the sunrise. Many trekkers will be there with cameras facing Mt. Everest. The sunrise enhances the mountain panorama, making it a perfect photo opportunity. Capture views of Mt. Everest, Pumori, Nuptse, Lhotse, and other mountain giants. Descend to Gorakshep for breakfast, then continue the trek to Pheriche via Lobuche.
Trek from Pheriche to Kyanjuma 3665 M
Pheriche - Descend to Kyanjuma via Tengboche. After passing Tengboche, descend to the riverside. Cross the bridge and follow the trail leading to Kyanjuma among three options: one heading to Namche, another to Khumjung village, and the last to Gokyo. Walk through lush rhododendron forests, experiencing some alpine wildlife. Enjoy the magnificent views of Twache, Thamserku, and Amadablam along the way.
Trek from Kyanjuma to Monjo 2880 M
Monjo - Initially, ascend to the beautiful village of Khumjung. Visit Hillary School, built by Sir Edmund Hillary. Explore Khunde village and its surroundings before descending to Namche. Finally, trek to Monjo via Namche Bazaar. Overnight stay at a local lodge.
Trek from Monjo to Lukla 2840 M. (5-6 hours)
Lukla - Although this is the last day of hiking to Lukla, celebrate the journey with the spectacular memories collected during the trek. Pass Phakding and ascend to Lukla town. Take an evening walk around the town and the airport.
Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel
Kathmandu - Board an early morning flight as wind conditions may affect later flights. Capture stunning mountain views during the flight. Land at Kathmandu Airport and transfer to your hotel. After refreshing, enjoy shopping or other activities. Join us in the evening for a delightful farewell dinner.
