Trek from Pokhara to Tikhedhunga (1540m/5052ft): 3-4 hours, 540 meters ascent - 9.6 km
Nayapul Trekking Starting Point - After breakfast, your Annapurna Ghorepani Poon Hill trek begins. A 1.5-hour drive through the large village of Lumle brings you to Nayapul. The trek starts here, initially descending on a staircase and then traversing high above the river on a wide, stone-paved trail to the bustling town of Birethanti (1000m). Today’s trail winds through bamboo forests and past waterfalls with inviting plunge pools. Beyond a pasture used by pony caravans, the trail reaches the small village of Sudami, where you can enjoy lunch. Afterward, climb steadily up the valley side to reach Hille (1510m), and after a short walk, you will arrive at Tikhedunga, where you will spend the night at a guest house.
Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2775m/9104ft): 4-6 hours, 1360 meters ascent - 9.4 km
Ghorepani Community Hospital - The trail crosses the Tikhedhunga River on a suspension bridge, then descends and crosses the Bhurungdi Khola on a large bridge at 1520m. The trail ascends a stone staircase with over 3300 steps, continuing to the large Magar village of Ulleri (2080m). From Ulleri, the trail gently climbs through pastures and cultivated fields. Walk beside the cascading river through cool oak and rhododendron forests. The trail crosses two clear streams, a small ridge, and another stream before a short climb to Nangathanti (2460m), where you can rest and have lunch. In winter, the trail may be snow-covered. The day’s destination, Ghorepani (2750m), is reached about an hour past Nangathanti.
Ghorepani to Poon Hill and trek to Tadapani (2540m/8333ft): 5-6 hours
Ghorepani Community Hospital - Most visitors rise before dawn to make the early-morning excursion to Poon Hill (3210m), one of Nepal’s best Himalayan viewpoints, offering an unobstructed view of the sunrise over the high Himalayas. Trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk (1940m/6365ft): Trek to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara
Lakeside-6, Pokhara - Today, the trail descends steeply through rhododendron forests to Baise Kharka, where you may encounter monkeys and a variety of birds.
