Kathmandu to Bandipur

Bandipur - Distance: ~145 km | Ride Time: 5–6 hours Start your engines! After an early breakfast, you’ll ride out of Kathmandu and onto the Prithvi Highway. The route follows the Trishuli River, with rolling hills and terraced fields accompanying you. Take a break midway for lunch before the road winds upward to the beautifully preserved hill town of Bandipur. Once a bustling trade hub between Tibet and India, Bandipur still exudes old-world charm with its cobbled streets, restored homes, and panoramic views of Manaslu and the Annapurna range. It’s the perfect first stop to ease into the journey.

Lete to Muktinath

Marpha - Distance: ~80 km | Ride Time: 5 hours Today, you’re riding to Mustang’s spiritual heart — Muktinath. Pass through Marpha, a charming Thakali village renowned for its apple orchards and whitewashed alleys.

Jomsom - Continue through Jomsom, the district headquarters, and begin your ascent to Muktinath at 3,800 meters.

Muktinath - The journey is challenging, with narrow tracks, loose gravel, and alpine winds. Upon arrival, visit the revered Muktinath Temple, where 108 water taps and an eternal flame await. It’s a sacred site for both Hindus and Buddhists — a powerful place to pause and reflect.

Muktinath to Tatopani

Tatopani Hot Spring - Distance: ~100 km | Ride Time: 5–6 hours After an early morning walk or meditation near the temple, you’ll start your descent back through the Kali Gandaki Valley. The ride down is smoother but still thrilling — with cliffs, switchbacks, and dramatic mountain views all around. By afternoon, you’ll arrive in Tatopani, a village named after its famous natural hot springs. Dip in the warm waters and let your muscles relax — a perfect remedy after several high-altitude riding days.

Tatopani to Pokhara

Pokhara Lakeside - Distance: ~100 km | Ride Time: 5 hours Continue your descent into the lowlands as pine forests give way to rice terraces and colorful towns. The ride is more comfortable today as you reach Pokhara, Nepal’s most popular lakeside city. Upon arrival, settle into your hotel, take a stroll along Phewa Lake, and enjoy the luxury of paved roads and laid-back cafés. A great evening to celebrate the halfway mark of your ride.

Pokhara Sightseeing

Sarangkot - After a series of long riding days, today is for rest and discovery. Wake up early if you like and ride up to Sarangkot for sunrise views over the Annapurna range.

Pokhara - Later, visit Davis Falls, the World Peace Pagoda, or Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave. You can also try paragliding, ziplining, or boating — Pokhara is the adventure capital of Nepal for good reason.

Gorkha Museum - Distance: ~115 km | Ride Time: 5–6 hours Leave behind the tourist buzz of Pokhara and head toward Gorkha, a historically rich town. The route cuts through peaceful rural landscapes, dotted with farming terraces and tiny tea shops. Gorkha is known as the birthplace of King Prithvi Narayan Shah, the unifier of Nepal. You can visit the Gorkha Durbar (palace) perched on a hill, offering sweeping views of the Himalayas.
