Reach the summit of Island Peak and embrace the excitement of a Himalayan adventure, advancing your mountaineering skills. For those looking to transition from trekking to mountaineering, climbing Island Peak is an ideal first ice climbing experience among Nepal’s 33 “trekking peaks.”
While Himalayan Peaks demand respect, Island Peak provides fit and seasoned hill walkers with a glimpse into the world of mountaineering in the grand ranges. Our 14-day Island Peak Climbing program is crafted to offer mountaineering experience to adventure enthusiasts with some high-altitude trekking background. The 16-day Island Peak climbing program begins with an exhilarating flight to Lukla, followed by trekking along the classic Everest base camp trail through the Sherpa villages of Phakding, Namche, Tengboche, and Dingboche. We then take a right turn to Chhukung and ascend Chhukung Ri to assist with acclimatization.
