Kailashnath Mahadev is recognized as the world’s tallest Lord Shiva statue, located in Saanga, on the border of Bhaktapur and Kavre districts. Standing at 143 feet tall, it is situated 20 km from Kathmandu, Nepal. The site offers breathtaking views of the valley, mountains, and lush green fields of Bhaktapur. In addition to the main Shiva statue, there is an impressive statue of the entire family (Shiva, Parvati, Kumar, and Ganesh). The stairs leading to the main statue feature Shiva-lingas representing 12 different forms of Lord Shiva. - Panauti - Upon arrival in Panauti, visitors can explore the Brahmayani Temple as they cross the Rosi and Punyamati rivers. They may encounter lines of mourners heading to the funeral Ghats. The tour continues with visits to the Indreshwor Temple and Unmatta Bhairav Temple. Guests can observe various idols of Hindu gods and goddesses, as well as intricate wood carvings on struts and torans around the Indreshwor Temple area.
- Namobuddha - The journey then proceeds to Namobuddha, where sightseeing begins upon arrival. The area is steeped in a story about a young prince who, during a hunting trip, encountered a weak and hungry tigress with her cubs. Seeing their plight, he selflessly offered his own flesh and blood to the starving tiger family. This young prince was, of course, the little Buddha. In honor of this noble tale, a renowned shrine and stone slab depicting the history are located atop a hill, offering a magnificent panorama of the Himalayas and the villages below. The tour concludes with the guide returning guests to their hotel.
