Constructed around 1650 AD, it is a renowned Tibetan pilgrimage site in Kathmandu, Nepal. The stupa is alternatively referred to as Shree Gha-Shanti Ghat Bhajradhatu Mahachaitya, Kathesimbhu stupa, or Kashi Swayambhu.
• Thahiti Chowk - Dating back to the 15th century, Thahiti Chowk features a stupa at its center. Legend has it that a Tibetan trader, who resided there, built the “Thahiti Stupa.” The trader discovered a hiti (a natural water source with a tap) that yielded gold coins.
• Seto Machindranath Temple - Situated in Jana Bahal, also known as Machhindra Bahal, the Seto Machindranath Temple is located at Keltole, between Asan and Indra Chok in central Kathmandu. It is believed to have been founded around the 10th century.
• Itum Bahal - Itum Baha is one of the 83 remaining Buddhist monasteries in Nepal and is among the few that remain intact. The temple’s two-story structure is centered around a courtyard, featuring several wooden sculptures, including a remarkable four-faced, six-armed deity from the 17th century, known locally as Mahapratisara.
