Kathmandu, named after the Kastamandap temple situated in its core, includes two other Nepalese districts, Patan and Bhaktapur, within its valley. This valley is renowned for its numerous historical and sacred Nepalese sites.

Influenced by both Hinduism and Buddhism, Kathmandu hosts several notable spiritual sites such as Swayambhu and Pashupatinath. The tranquil sway of prayer flags in Swayambhu and Boudha imparts a sense of serenity. From the pinnacle of Swayabhu, the view of the city is breathtaking. The streets of Boudha emanate positivity due to the many Buddhist monasteries nearby. Pashupatinath, a notable shrine where Lord Shiva is revered, serves as a cornerstone of Hindu worship. Patan Durbar Square, the ancient palace of the Malla King, is rich in historical architecture and art. It has been converted into a museum, offering a glimpse into the history of Patan Durbar.
