Travel from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1467m)
Langtang National Park - Rise early to catch the local bus from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, heading north. The mostly unpaved road meanders through scenic foothills with ridge-line views as we make our way to Syabrubesi, a quaint town within Langtang National Park, popular among those traveling to Tibet or embarking on a Langtang Valley trek. Trek to Lama Hotel (2470m)
Langtang National Park - As the Langtang Valley trek begins, the trail gently ascends through picturesque forest to Landslide (1810m) and continues with a gradual rise to Bamboo (1960m), then to Rimche (2400m) where we cross the Langtang Khola and start the steep climb to the charming Lama Hotel, a favored meeting spot for trekkers, nestled deep within dense ancient forest.
Trek to Langtang Village (3430m)
Langtang National Park - Continuing along the Langtang Valley trekking route, pass through lush oak, pine, and rhododendron forests with waterfalls along the way. The first view of the Langtang Himalaya appears at the verdant meadows of Ghoda Tabela. As the valley widens, we reach Langtang village, one of the largest villages on our trek, still rebuilding from the 2015 earthquakes.
Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3870m)
Langtang National Park - As the 8-day Langtang Valley trek continues, the trail gradually climbs through quaint villages and rolling green pastures. As we trek onward, the valley opens up, offering breathtaking views to Kyanjin and a long dramatic look back over the Langtang Valley. Named after the centuries-old Buddhist monastery Kyanjin Gompa, the village of Kyanjin, surrounded by snowcapped mountains, is an ideal resting point for trekkers and offers numerous side trips to explore.
Kyanjin Gompa - Upon arrival, enjoy lunch and a village tour, including a visit to the Cheese factory established in the 1950s.
Kyanjin Gompa - Free Day to Explore
Kyanjin Gompa - Today, enjoy the freedom to explore one of the many side trips available from Kyanjin. Witness the sunrise over the majestic Langtang Himalayan range from Kyanjin Ri (4700m) or Tsergo Ri (4980m), take an invigorating hike to see Langtang’s dramatic glaciers, or opt for the six-hour round trip trek to Langsisha Ri viewpoint for unparalleled mountain views.
Trek Back to Lama Hotel - 2490m
Langtang National Park - Wake up refreshed and ready to retrace the Langtang Valley trekking route along the Langtang Khola to Langtang village and on to Ghoda Tabela, where we will enjoy a relaxing lunch break. From here, continue the steep descent through the dense, biodiverse forest to the charming Lama Hotel for an overnight stay.
Trek Down to Syabru Besi [2000m]
Langtang National Park - After a hearty breakfast, begin the final leg of this enchanting Langtang Valley trek. Returning to Syabrubesi, the undulating path offers one last look into the culture and customs of the local Tamang community. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and cherishing the memories of the breathtaking beauty experienced on this Langtang Valley short trek.
Drive Back to Kathmandu
Kathmandu Valley - After an early breakfast, board the local bus from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu, winding through scenic foothills and river valleys. (8 Hours) Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel to relax and savor the memories of your incredible Langtang Valley Trek.
