Langtang National Park - After breakfast, a trip orientation meeting is followed by a drive to Syabrubesi, located 132km from Kathmandu. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Trek to LAMA HOTEL (2470m/8100ft) 6-7 hours/1070m ascent
Langtang Valley - From Syabrubesi, the trail diverges from the main road, heading north past a police post, crossing a suspension bridge over the Bhote Koshi. Turning right at the bridge’s eastern end, then left, the path climbs into the village of old Syabrubesi. The village monastery, housed in a small stone building, is at the village’s far end. After visiting the monastery, the stone-paved main street leads out of town to a bridge over the Langtang Khola. Crossing this bridge, a junction is reached, from where the path continues straight, crossing a log bridge for a pleasant walk through trees, side streams, and landslides to another suspension bridge and Doman waterfall. Passing through several settlements and forests with diverse wildlife such as yellow-throated martens, wild boars, langur monkeys, red pandas, Himalayan black bears, and birds, the trail climbs a rocky ridge and descends to river bridges and waterfalls with a small hot spring across the river. A long climb through forests leads to another trail junction, beyond which the trail gently ascends to Bamboo. Beyond Bamboo, the trail crosses the Dangdung Khola, climbing past a small landslide to a suspension bridge over the Langtang Khola. From the northern bank of the Langtang Khola, the route climbs alongside a series of waterfalls formed by house-sized boulders. Crossing the dry forest of scrub oaks, cactuses, and nettles, the trail climbs steeply to a landslide in lower Rimche. Passing another trail junction in upper Renche, the path ascends gently to Changtang, commonly known as Lama Hotel. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Trek to LANGTANG (3430m/11254ft) 4-5 hours/980m ascent
Langtang Valley - Ascending through a steep forest of hemlocks, oaks, maples, and white and pink rhododendrons high above the Langtang Khola, the trail reaches Gumanchok, then crosses a stream and climbs steeply to a pass marked with prayer flags to reach Ghora Tabela, now a Nepal Army and National Park Post. The trail ascends gradually as the valley opens into a classic U-shaped glacial valley. Following the trail across the helipad and yak pastures, the path climbs through rhododendron forests to Thangshyap. The route climbs the hillside diagonally above the fields to Ghumba village, which has a lovely gompa to visit. The trail crosses a stream and climbs past several water-driven mills and prayer wheels to the large settlement of Langtang, the headquarters for Langtang National Park. Huge twin waterfalls pour from a cleft in the rock wall above town, with views of 6581m Langtang II. In Langtang, varied bird species such as hawks, drab-colored cuckoos, fruit-eating barbets, owls, laughing thrushes, red-billed and yellow-billed magpies, parakeets, and more can be observed. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Trek to KYANJIN GOMPA (3860m/12665ft) 2-3 hours/460m ascent
Langtang Valley - The trail winds through the village, climbing a ridge topped by a large chorten, then gradually climbs past a mani wall, crossing a stream to the small village of Mundu. The trail joins the rushing river, climbing to a yak wool shop and yak pastures of Yamphu, then climbs a moraine to a viewpoint where the monastery of Kyanjin Gompa and the dramatic icefall from the peaks of Langtang Lirung and Kimshung are visible. There is ample time to acclimatize and explore, including the Nyingmapa school monastery, before reaching Kyanjin Gompa. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Trek to TSERGO RI (4984m/16353ft) and back
Langtang Valley - A challenging five-hour climb from Kyanjin Gompa leads to the conical-shaped high viewpoint of Tsergo Ri. The east trail towards Langshisha Kharka is taken, crossing the stream, then branching left by a cairn up the side valley to a steep switchback ascent up the hill. The path passes the stone huts of herders at Yala Kharka before climbing steeply to the prayer flags atop the viewpoint for superb mountain panorama views. The return is to Kyanjin Gompa for the night. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

This short and easy trek to Langtang Valley is one of the most rewarding trek that offers an opportunity to explore villages, bag small peaks and visit glaciers at a comfortably low elevation climbing through forests of pine, rhododendron and bamboo, ascending through pastures to arrive at the alpine meadows of Kyanjin Gompa (3860m/12665ft) and Tsergo Ri (4984m/16353ft) from where we get the outstanding views of mighty Langtang Lirung (7246m) to the north, Gang Chhenpo (6388m) and the peak of Naya Kangri (5846m) in south and Dorje Lakpa in the east, just a stone’s throw from the Tibetan border. This area was designated as first Himalayan National Park of Nepal in 1971. In this trek we get an opportunity to explore the cultures and traditions of the ethnic group of Tamangs who speak Tibeto-Burman language and trace their roots back to Tibet practicing a form of Tibetan Buddhism, as in our way we will pass by series of Tamang villages.
