The Kathmandu Valley is rich with historical and religious monuments, temples, and monasteries, many of which are World Heritage Sites. Highlights of this sightseeing tour include the ancient Buddhist stupa of Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple, renowned for its unique blend of Hinduism and Buddhism, and offering a beautiful view of Kathmandu city from its premises. Next, visit the Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in the world, where the Tibetan community, Sherpas, and tourists alike circumambulate daily. Immerse yourself in the peaceful Buddhist mantras and observe the pilgrims paying their respects to Lord Buddha. Then, visit the Hindu sacred pilgrimage site of Pashupatinath Temple, where you will find several small temples, statues, and ancient heritages. Witness the open cremation at the bank of the holy Bagmati River, receive blessings from the sadhus draped in saffron and holding tridents, and feel the positivity.
After an engaging tour, the afternoon is free to relax and prepare for the Manaslu & Tsum Valley Trekking, with an early morning overland drive to the Gorkha area.
Drive to Machha Khola (930 m / 3,051 ft) - 06 hrs. walk
Manaslu - After breakfast, our representative will transfer you on a scenic drive towards Mid-West on Nepal’s busy main highway. The drive takes about 7-8 hours, during which you will also witness waterfalls, the Trishuli River, and the Budi Gandaki River along the route. The roadway is generally fair, with some bumpy sections. Lunch is served along the route where convenient.
On the way, you will see the famous waterfall named Nauli Jharana. After a quick photo stop at Nauli Jharana, continue walking along the riverside of Budigandaki, passing short settlements like Khursani Bari and Labu Besi until reaching Machha Khola. Upon reaching Machha Khola, pass the first checkpoint for the Manaslu Conservation Area, where all logistics are handled by the guide provided by Nepal Trekking Planner. Settle into your accommodation and rest until dinner is served.

There is a brief stop at Jagat for another MCAP checkpoint, where licenses and permits are thoroughly checked. The trail from Jagat descends to a long series of stone steps to a river. From here, the path climbs a terraced hillside to Salleri, offering distant views of Siringi Himal 7,187m from this spot. Samdo marks the last village before reaching Larkya-la. In earlier days, Larkya Bazaar was situated to the west of Samdo, where Tibetan merchants and people from this region, as well as those from the lower Gorkha region, used to engage in trade and barter.
