Arrival in Kathmandu (1390m)

A hotel in Thamel will accommodate you for the night. During your free time, you can explore Thamel, a renowned tourist hotspot in Kathmandu.
Drive to Pokhara (800m)
Pokhara - On the second day of the Mardi Himal Trekking, embark on a 5-6 hour drive to Pokhara by car. The journey begins after breakfast at the hotel. Travel alongside the Trishuli River until Mugling, then take the Prithvi Highway towards Pokhara. Arrive in Pokhara by evening and settle into the hotel for the night. If time permits, explore the area around the lake.
Drive to Kande, Trek to Pritam Deurali (2100m)
Annapurna Base Camp Trek - The first day of trekking starts with an hour’s drive from Pokhara to Kande, following the Pokhara-Baglung highway. From Kande, the trek begins. It’s a relatively easy walk with gentle ascents through terraced farms and Rhododendron forests. Between Kande and Pritam Deurali is the Australian camp, offering stunning views of the Annapurna massifs. After 4 hours of trekking, reach Pritam Deurali for an overnight stay. Pritam Deurali is a typical rural village in Nepal with stone houses and terraced farms.
Trek to Forest Camp (2600m)
Annapurna Base Camp Trek - Today’s trail is rich with dense forests, predominantly evergreen. The vegetation is temperate, with lush jungles throughout. The path cuts through these deep forests with occasional stops. The route to the forest camp is lined with Rhododendron and Oak jungles. This part of the trek is a paradise for bird enthusiasts, with 488 bird species, including the colorful Himalayan Monal (Danphe) - Nepal’s national bird, Satyr Tragopan, Blood Pheasant, Cheer Pheasant, Snow Partridge, Kalij Pheasant, and various eagles, vultures, and owls. Arrive at Forest Camp in the evening for an overnight stay.
Trek to Low Camp
Mardi Himal - Today’s trail involves a gradual ascent. As you move beyond the dense forests, a new landscape emerges as you approach Low Camp. The lush jungles give way to scattered Maple, Pine, and Hemlock forests. This section of the trek is characterized by temperate vegetation. You will catch your first glimpse of the Annapurna massifs as you near Low Camp.
Trek to High Camp (3550m)
Mardi Himal - The journey from Low Camp to High Camp is the most challenging part of the Mardi Himal trek. Crossing the 3000-meter mark, the trail narrows. The surrounding landscape becomes barren and semi-arid. This section includes several steep ascents, but the breathtaking Himalayan views make it worthwhile. The altitude becomes noticeable as you reach High Camp. There are many narrow ridges to traverse. Arrive at High Camp for an overnight stay.
Hike to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4500m), back to High Camp
Mardi Himal - The final leg of the Mardi Himal trek starts with an early morning wake-up. Trek to Mardi Himal Base Camp for a sunrise view. It takes 2 hours to reach the viewpoint. The path is challenging, with rocky and slippery sections. The trail is narrow, with rocky ridges to navigate. As the elevation exceeds 4000 meters, the altitude becomes apparent. Upon reaching the base camp, a breathtaking environment unfolds. The base camp offers stunning views of the Annapurna massifs. Many consider the sunrise view from the base camp to be the best. Spend some time at the base camp before descending to High Camp for the night.
Trek to Sidhing (1945m), Drive back to Pokhara
Pokhara - The descent from the Mardi Himal trek begins today. Follow the same path as the ascent. The trek is easy, with a gradual descent until Badal Danda. From Badal Danda, the trail diverges towards Sidhing. The route passes through the dense jungles at the foothills of Mt. Macchapuchre. It’s a steep descent with a slippery trail. After 5 hours, reach Sidhing and board a jeep back to Pokhara.
Drive back to Kathmandu
Kathmandu - After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, board the vehicle to Kathmandu. The return journey follows the Prithvi Highway. It takes approximately 7-8 hours to reach Kathmandu. Relax and unwind in the evening.
