Arrival in Kathmandu (1350 m)
Kathmandu - Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, the Nepal Adventure Team staff and guides will warmly welcome you and escort you to your respective hotels in the bustling tourist area of Thamel, Kathmandu. After a refreshing break, our guide or leader will provide a briefing about the hotels, Nepali culture, tours, and the Poon Hill Trekking, followed by a delightful welcome dinner at a traditional Nepalese restaurant, accompanied by a folk cultural program.
Drive to Pokhara (860 m) 220 km - 7/8 hours
Pokhara - Our guide will collect you, transfer you to the bus station, and accompany you on a scenic drive to Pokhara via a deluxe tourist bus along the Trisuli River and hilly terrain. You will have free time in Pokhara in the evening, where you can visit Phewa Lake and the lakeside street for dinner. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Drive to Nayapul (1,100 m) begin trek to Hile (1,450 m) - 04 hours
Pokhara - After an enjoyable stay in the world-renowned tourist destination of Pokhara, the journey to Nayapul through mid-hill towns and villages begins. From Nayapul, the trek commences with a gentle walk through Birethanti, encountering fellow trekkers, mule, and donkey trains. This path is an ancient trail, the Trans-Himalayan Salt Trade Route to Tibet. For the night, we stay in a comfortable lodge at Hile.
Trek to Ghorepani (2,840 m) - 05 hours
Ghorepani - The early morning walk leads to Tikhedhuga, followed by a steep climb for about two hours on the paved stone steps up to Ulleri village. The magnificent views of the surrounding landscapes and snow-capped peaks of Annapurna South and Mt. Machapuchare enhance the trail’s beauty. The challenging uphill climb becomes more enjoyable on the winding path through a cool forest of alpine trees, including oaks, pines, and rhododendron, up to Ghorepani-Deurali village. Ghorepani is situated on a high spot extending all the way to Upper Mustang and Tibet. The local people are Pun Magar, and the area is renowned for the hike to Poon Hill, a viewpoint offering expansive views of the world’s three highest peaks and a range of other mountains with breathtaking sunrise and sunset.
Morning hike to Poon Hill (3,210 m) for sunrise, walk to Tadapani (2,520 m) 6 hours
Poon Hill Marga - Before dawn, the hike begins to capture the golden and shimmering sunrise from Poonhill at 3210m, which enhances the mountains’ beauty. The mountain range from Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Manaslu, and Annapurna ranges to Ganesh Himal in the far eastern horizon, including the stunning Mt. Machapuchare, elevates Poonhill’s worth. With a heartwarming view, we proceed to Tadapani for our stay. The walk continues, passing small places like Deurali and Banthati, with a short climb leading to Tadapani. Tadapani is nestled in the middle of enchanting forests with superb views of Annapurna and Machapuchare.
Trek to Ghandruk (1,951m) - 04 hours
Ghandruk - Today, enjoy a short trek to Ghandruk village and leisurely explore Ghandruk if interested. The trail is adorned with green forests providing a refreshing breeze during the warm walk. The mountains are always ready to welcome us. In Ghandruk, you can explore the Gurung village and their culture, which is one of the largest villages in the Annapurna region. You can also try on their cultural attire. The men of Ghandruk village have a long tradition of serving as some of the finest soldiers in the Gorkha Regiment for both the British and Indian armies.
Trek to Pothana (1,900 m) - 05 hours
Nepal - The journey continues on a downhill path for an hour to the Modi River. After crossing the bridge and climbing up, we reach Landruk village. A short break in this charming village, followed by a walk on the long winding trail through terraced farm fields and an uphill walk for 40 minutes, leads to Deurali ridge at 2,150 m. Deurali offers grand views of Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Manaslu, and the Fish Tail peak. Our night stay is in the small village of Pothana.
Trek to Kande and drive to Pokhara - 2 hours
Pokhara - Accompanied by stunning mountain views, the trek continues through a cool forest to reach Thulo Kharka, popularly known as Australian Camp. Australian Camp is a delightful spot in the forest with large meadows offering magnificent views of the Himalayan mountain range. After a short break here, descend to Kande village on the Baglung-Pokhara highway. An hour’s drive from Kande brings us to Pokhara.
Drive back to Kathmandu - 06 hours
Kathmandu - Early in the morning, following the same route, we drive back to Kathmandu. You can relax and explore the market for the rest of the day. Feel free to ask your guide to take you around. A farewell dinner is served in a cultural restaurant. (Flight option is available).
