The Ruwanwelisaya stupa is revered by Buddhists, while Thuparamaya, which enshrines the Buddha’s collarbone, is considered the first dagaba in Sri Lanka. Lovamahapaya, also known as the Brazen Palace, is situated between Ruwanvaliseya and Sri Maha Bodhiya. Jetavanarama is the largest stupa in Sri Lanka. In addition to these stunning sites, there are other stupas and relics that rise above the expansive paddy fields in the area.

Polonnaruwa - Day 3 - After breakfast, head to Polonnaruwa.

Polonnaruwa was a prominent city in Sri Lanka, gaining significance during its brief 2-century period in Sri Lankan history, second only to Anuradhapura in cultural heritage. Today, Polonnaruwa showcases remarkable ancient Sri Lankan architecture from the 12th Century AD, featuring numerous Buddhist monasteries and monuments built by King Parakramabahu I.

Sigiriya-Kandy

Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - After a delicious breakfast, you will be driven to the renowned Sigiriya Rock, where you can climb to the top of this ancient rock fortress. Following this, you will travel to the beautiful city of Kandy, with a planned visit to a spice garden along the way. You will then be driven directly to your hotel in Kandy.

Sigiriya, or Sinhagiri, is an ancient rock fortress located in the northern Matale District near Dambulla in Sri Lanka’s Central Province. The site is of historical and archaeological importance, dominated by a massive rock column nearly 200 meters high.

Post Office Nuwara Eliya - After a hearty breakfast, travel to Nuwara Eliya. En route, enjoy views of beautiful waterfalls and tea plantations. Ella Rock - After a good breakfast, visit the Nine Arch Bridge in Demodara. Known as the Bridge in the Sky, this viaduct bridge is a prime example of colonial-era railway construction in Sri Lanka. Reach the site via a jungle-like path, or take a tuk-tuk to a nearby location if walking is not feasible.

Next, visit Little Adams Peak, which stands at 1141m and is relatively easy to climb with a well-maintained path. The excursion takes about 2-3 hours, including time for photos. Afterward, enjoy lunch in Ella town, which is highly recommended. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Ella-Tissamaharama

Ella - After a delightful breakfast, travel to Tissamaharama to visit the renowned Yala National Park. Along the way, admire the stunning Rawana Falls, one of the country’s widest waterfalls at 25m high, linked to the epic tale of Ramayanaya.

After visiting the Dutch fort, drive to Bentota, a resort town on Sri Lanka’s southwest coast. Bentota Beach stretches north, becoming a sandy strip known as Paradise Island, parallel to Bentota Lagoon.

After checking into the hotel, visit the Turtle Conservation and Hatchery site, followed by a boat ride on the Madu River, where you can experience a fish massage in a small river. Overnight stay in Bentota.
