Negombo or Colombo - Sigiriya

Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - Sigiriya is home to the 5th Century “Fortress in the Sky” which is perhaps the most fantastic single wonder of the Island. It is also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance to the fortress. Within its triple-moated defence the huge rock rises almost to a sheer height of 500ft. On its summit are the foundations of what was once a great and sumptuous palace and gardens complete with swimming pool. On one of the stairways the only known ancient work of Sinhala secular painting survived in the form of Frescoes of life sized damsels in all the freshness and delicacy of their original colour.

Minneriya National Park - The Minneriya National Park is famed for its “Elephant Gathering”, a spectacular phenomenon during the long dry seasons, when hundreds of Elephants, both the adults and young along with a few tuskers, sometimes numbering close to 200 can be seen feeding on the grasslands bordering the tank, with others cooling off in the giant tank. This annual event considered to be the largest Wild Elephant gathering in South Asia attracts many wildlife enthusiasts to take on a safari in Minneriya National Park to observe and experience this unique wildlife spectacle.

In addition to the Elephant attraction at the Park, it also has an abundance of wildlife which makes it a preferred destination to go on a safari. This includes 24 species of mammals.

Sigiriya - Polonnaruwa

Ramboda Waterfall - Ramboda Falls is 109 m high and the eleventh tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka and the 729th tallest waterfall in the world. It is situated in Pussellawa area, on the A5 highway at Ramboda Pass. The waterfall is formed by the Panna Oya which is a tributary of Kothmale Oya.

The reserve covers 30,821 hectares of land area and was established on 30 June 1972.
