- Wailua River State Park - The first tour stop is in Wailua town, a historically significant religious and political hub of the island. The Ali’i, or royalty, lived here, and many heiaus (temples) were constructed in this area. Visitors will explore Poliahu Heiau, Opaekaa Falls, and the Wailua River lookout, the largest navigable river in the state, from two vantage points. As you take in the stunning scenery, the guide will share intriguing stories of ancient times and the island’s evolution into the modern era.
- Lydgate State Park - Enjoy a leisurely walk along the path at the picturesque Lydgate Beach Park. Dip your feet in the renowned Morgan Ponds, learn about the ancient temple where Hawaiians welcomed the sunrise, the city of refuge, and more. This walk is suitable for all ages and offers numerous photo opportunities.
- Wailua Falls - Waterfalls are a must-see on any vacation. From Wailua town, travel to Lihue town to visit the stunning and famous Wailua Falls, featured in the TV show “Fantasy Island.” There will be plenty of time to admire the falls, take photos, and explore local vendors.
- Spouting Horn - En route to the Spouting Horn, drive through the iconic Tree Tunnel. Witness the awe-inspiring power of nature at this ancient lava tube, transformed into a water blowhole by ocean wave erosion. The Hawaiian legend associated with this site will be shared, complete with sound effects.
- Old Koloa Town - Lunch will be in the historic town of Koloa, offering a variety of dining options, from restaurants to food trucks. Enjoy the freedom to choose your meal. Spend about 1.5 hours here to dine, explore this charming plantation town, and shop for locally made souvenirs (optional).
- Menehune Fish Pond - Visit the lookout of one of Kauai’s oldest archaeological sites, located in a stunning wildlife reserve in Lihue town. While enjoying the beautiful scenery, learn about the ongoing restoration project, the legend of the “Menehunes,” the little people of Hawai’i who built the pond, and the many Hollywood films shot in this area.
