• Lydgate Beach Park - Aloha! Meet Pomaikaʻi, a talented Polynesian performer who was born and raised on the beautiful island of Kauaʻi. With over 15 years of experience in Fireknife dancing, Pomaikaʻi has graced many of the top luaus across the island. Now, there’s an exciting opportunity to experience this powerful and beautiful tradition up close and personal.

The session begins with a brief talk-story about the origins and significance of Fireknife dancing in Samoan culture. Participants will learn basic movements using a practice stick, including spins, footwork, and simple combinations—no prior experience is needed! Pomaikaʻi will also perform a short live demonstration, and for those who feel ready, there will be a chance to try a real fireknife, safely and under expert guidance.
