• Lydgate Beach Park - Aloha! Meet Pomaikaʻi, a talented Polynesian performer who was born and raised on the beautiful island of Kauaʻi. With over 15 years of experience in Fireknife dancing, Pomaikaʻi has showcased his skills at many of the island’s premier luaus. Now, he is thrilled to offer an engaging and interactive experience, sharing this captivating tradition with you.

The session begins with an informative talk-story about the origins and significance of Fireknife dancing in Samoan culture. Participants will learn basic movements using a practice stick, including spins, footwork, and simple combinations—no prior experience is required! Pomaikaʻi will also perform a short live demonstration, and for those who feel ready, there will be an opportunity to try a real fireknife under his safe and expert guidance.
