Embark on a guided adventure in Kauai that’s perfect for the whole family, involving kayaking across the riveting Wailua river valley and hiking to the Uluwehi falls, better known as Secret Falls. Our professional tour guide will accompany you as you paddle through some of Kauai’s most revered waterways and trek through its stunning tropical forest, weaving myths, legends, and snippets of Hawaiian history into the journey towards the Secret Falls.
- We depart immediately after check-in so no late arrivals will be permitted
- Not recommended for participants with recent back, knee or ankle injuries
- No open wounds
- Participants must be in good physical condition and able to hike approximately two miles through rocky, muddy and slippery terrain
- Must wear shoes that are secure to your feet. No flip flops.
- Please bring plenty of water.
- Other recommended items to bring: swimsuits, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, snacks, and a towel.
- Ziploc bags should be used for cell phones or cameras that are not waterproof
- No alcohol
- Age restriction is 13-69
- Not recommended for travelers with recent knee, ankle or back injuries

Turn off KUHIO hwy into the shopping plaza with the green building which is across the street from the Shell gas station. Look for the STAND UP PADDLE shop and Dukes Kayak Adventures sandwich board next to it. Feel free to park nearby and your guide will meet you and take care of you from there.

Would do again - Tour guide was awesome. Very knowledgeable and fun! We got to hand feed a bird and wash our hair in a waterfall with natural shampoo. Such a vibe

A different, very fun way to enjoy Kauai with a terrific guide - A wonderful immersion into kayaking up a gorgeous river, a fun trek into the jungle, 8 river crossings, waterfalls, a very big waterfall to swim under; brilliant guide. Learnt all about the region.

Fun kayak and hike! - We had a great time on the Kayak and Hike to Secret Falls tour. Our guide was “Kayak Zach” and he did a terrific job guiding our group of 12. We were two couples in our 50s/60s and the other folks in our group were a big family with two small children. Zach managed the different age groups/abilities with aplomb and a large repertoire of jokes. The two mile kayak journey (one way) was pretty easy and just a little more difficult on the return because of the headwind. Zach gave really good instructions and stayed with the less experienced kayakers. The 45 minute hike was fun but very muddy in places. It also included a river crossing and a couple of small streams so that helped wash most of the mud off. You want to wear a hiking sandal like Chaco or Teva. The hike finished at the “Secret Falls” (not a secret) which was stunning and a fun swim!

Beautiful hike/kayak! - This was an incredible hike! We had Kayak Zack, who was very informative and considered our safety his number 1 priority. The waterfall is even more beautiful in person! Our family of 8 people managed great throughout the hike with ages ranging from 6 years old to 65. Would highly recommend this excursion!

Fun hike to a great waterfall - Zach, our guide, was great. He was very knowledgeable, fun, and provided exceptional guidance on kayaking, stream crossing, and walking the muddy path. The plants, animals, and history of the falls was explained up and back as we hiked. I would definitely choose this one because of the guide and also how amazing the falls were.

Book this trip! You won’t regret it - Shout out to Zach! Absolutely amazing tour guide, wouldn’t have been nearly as enjoyable without him, 10/10 experience, highly recommend and would do it again!

Very active and fun... - Very active and fun activity. Kayak 2 miles one way, hike through running streams, over boulders and through mud. Slippery-Wear good shoes that can get wet and provide traction. Gorgeous waterfall!

Amazing! - The experience was incredible, super beautiful and relaxing! Our guide, Mikayla, was super fun, super helpful, she is amazing! The hiking is super easy, very muddy, it is a lot of rock but easy! Don't forget your water shoes because you cross the river and the water is near to your knees! The kayaking is 4 miles round trip, 45 minutes to one hour each way but very calm and relaxing, you don't feel rush at all!

Beautiful falls with a bit of challenge to get there. - It really was an adventure. Kayak then hike through jungle, mud, and rocks. Must be in good shape to do it. The falls were beautiful. Overall a fun day. Our guide Helm was extremely knowledgeable but he went way too fast on the hike and didn’t wait for all the group to catch up before describing things to see. Take some snacks and water but don’t bring too much. We had more then we needed and it made the Kayak heavy and then you have to carry the dry bag on the hike.
