Truly amazing! First time, won't be the last time! - Amazing experience. First time ever surfing and not familiar with the ins and outs at all. Family of 4. The staff and process were great! Our tour guide Mitch was super friendly, welcoming and helped us feel comfortable in the water. He was there with us every set and coached and encouraged us! Mrs Lynn and staff were welcoming and friendly and by the end made us feel like family. The whole process start to finish was amazing and we will be back! If you're debating or looking for a that review to help you decide, use HSA, you won't regret it!

Great for beginners - The instructor was so good and patient and the kids LOVED the experience. All four did well and we went back to rent boards and surfed on their own the next day.

Great experience! - Our boys ages 17 and 13 loved this experience! They had never surfed and were up in no time on the boards. Evan was a great instructor! We would have rented boards afterward so they could keep practicing what they learned had a tsunami warning not been issued. Such a great experience for them in Hawaii!

Family Friendly Surfing Lesson - Took a private family lesson from Tapu as two 40 year olds, a 9 year old and 7 year old. None of us had tried surfing before, but by the end of the lesson, we all had multiple successful rides! Rash guards and boards were provided, and Tapu made surfing easy and fun. We also really liked the shop where you check in - great curation and friendly workers. We would love to come back and surf more with them!

Great for kids wanting to learn to surf! - My two boys 5/8 just did a lesson with Tapu and absolutely loved it so much that we are already booking another. Highly recommend them - my boys were standing up very quickly. I also recommend booking this early in your trip should your kids want to do it again!

Definitely recommend this company for surf lessons in Hanalei Bay! - Our experience was great! Our instructor Nick was very helpful and had us up on waves quickly. He helped show us the basics and we had a blast! We received the photos from our session within the next day and they were great! Pickle (the photographer) did a great job catching our successes and our wipeouts! Definitely recommend this company for surf lessons in Hanalei Bay!
