They make it easy to learn! - Nate was an expert at teaching surfing. I managed to stand up my first wave with his guidance. It was a great day in the ocean

Family lessons 10/10! - We loved our first surf lesson with Patrick! He was great with our kids and helped them catch as many waves as possible. There's so much more to surfing than just hopping on a board, so having a lesson was very helpful. The location in Hanalei Bay was perfect, easy to access, and safe. We ended up coming back the next day and renting boards from them so we could go back out! The surf shop is also an adorable little boutique with lots of great finds for souvenirs and gifts to bring home. Highly recommend!

First Time Surfer with Nate - Nate was my instructor, he is a local and was fun to chat with. I have never surfed before but Nate explained how to surf in a way that I understood quickly and it just clicked. It does get tiring paddling after catching a wave and 90minutes for the lesson was the right amount of time. I went in the morning which was nice, before the beach got too crowded. I had a great time, highly recommend!

Absloutely awesome! You will enjoy!! - Sandy Bottom seems to specialize in personal small group surf lessons. I'm 50 my kid was 18. We felt invited, encouraged, welcomed, and our instructor genuinely made us feel important. It was fantastic. We has some basic instructions on the beach. because I'm old I asked our instructor for a minute or two to stretch. In stead he led the two of us in a nice warm up stretch! Awesome! Once we got into the water we were surfing on the first try! They provide some long boards, which makes it a lot more approachable to learning. We were given long sleeved shirts to wear, a must. For an additional fee they offer a photographer to capture your excellence or in my case flops! We thoroughly enjoyed our day and topped everything off with an actual Tsunami warning later that day!

Nate was an amazing surf instructor—patient, fun, and had me riding waves at Hanalei Bay! 🌊🤙 - My surf lesson with Hawaiian Surfing Adventures was unforgettable—Nate, our instructor, was amazing: patient, encouraging, and genuinely stoked to see us succeed. Hanalei Bay’s calm, sandy-bottom waves made learning feel safe and fun, and Nate’s local expertise made all the difference. He tailored his guidance perfectly, turning my first few stumbles into actual rides. By the beginning, I was grinning ear to ear, standing on my board and riding waves with confidence. If you’re looking for a fun, personalized surf lesson in Kauaʻi, Nate and this crew are absolutely top-notch.

First time surfing but won’t be my last - It was a fun experience. Luca was a good teacher and very encouraging. I brought my GoPro and he also got some good footage of me catching a couple waves. If you’re debating getting the professional pictures I say do it! It’s worth it. I got some really good action shots. 10/10 would recommended

Great Surf Experience - Our family surf lesson with Patrick was one of the highlights of our week in Kauai. He gave us a thorough on land lesson and then we hit the water. By the end everyone got up and my kids (9 & 11) rode almost all of their waves. This was a great first surfing experience for them and I highly recommend this company for surf lessons on the North Shore of Kauai.

We love surfing in Hanalei - Wonderful instructors, great service. We loved Patrick and we’ll be taking meek lessons with him. He got the boys catching waves within an hour on their very first lesson.
